I was overall "meh" about the whole thing, but I really didn't care for the 4th wall-breaking aspect of it. That kept taking me out of the story and the audience in the pit that kept reacting like it was a pop concert and not an emotional dramatic work.

I didn't know that was the dress rehearsal. It felt really off. Rent was the only Broadway show I'd liked until Hamilton. I saw in 1999 on Broadway. I liked the parts that you noted. I wanted to like it a lot more, and was excited to see it live again. It's a shame Fox blew this. No understudy?
