"What would happen if a nuclear bomb went off in Seattle?"

The rest of the Northwest would rejoice. Hopefully Kim uses the Space Needle as an aiming point.

2

Didn't feel like writing a real article today, eh? That's okay some of your other stuff was pretty good this week and it's Friday. I don't mind this low energy Trump bullshit which is a writer basically saying I don't have anything real to say today. But it is fun to fantasize about Seattle exploding in a huge fireball, I'll give you that.

4

Affordable housing in Seattle! At last!

5

John F. Kennedy = narcissistic despot with less regard for human life than his own ego.
Noted.

BTW... The treaty in question is already being ignored by the Russians (according to the Obama administration) and does not include North Korea... So our leaving it would not change the status quo.

But I guess that calling Russia out on it's shit in this respect is yet again more evidence of Russian Collusion (tm) demonstrating how deep in Vlad's pocket Trump really is.

6

5 - Your manufactured narratives are amusing in their simplicity.

8

The Stranger would finally go away and GermanSauasage would meet its end. Oh, and it would really get rid of the junkies all over downtown. Come to think of it...not seeing much of a downside

10

@ Katie Herzog, what does Hillary Clinton's asshole taste like?

11

That sounds a like a conspiracy theory from a commie there @9.

In all seriousness, it amuses me so much leftists want to scream about how Trump is Russian controlled and then in the next sentence push a literal Soviet stooge in Bernie and push socialism. The psychological disconnect of the west coast liberal is completely fascinating.

I'll be reminding you how much the Mueller investigation cost when that sham finally washes up on shore with nothing in the bottle. But you'll be losing it about some new conspiracy theory with complete cognitive dissonance over the past.

13

Too lazy to even research the possible targets. Downtown Seattle is small beans compared to Bangor, JBLM, or one of the major power stations.

14

@7
“Giving Russia exactly what they want”
How??? According to the Obama administration, the Russians have been ignoring the treaty for some time. Meaning it restrains only us. How is it “what they want” for us to level the playing field???

15

@14, NaziSausage needs his narrative that doesn't have facts to back it up.

16

@5 You realize Trump lifted all the sanctions on Russia that were in place and never implemented the ones he said he was going to?

And if you understood the first thing about proliferation agreements you'd know that ending this treaty does nothing but BENEFIT Russia. Those Russian misses system are tactical. They are not meant to threaten us directly but our allies. We can't reposed with staging tactical missiles of our own because our allies do not want more nukes in their territory. Also the agreement itself had consequences and sanctions in place for non-compliance which now we have no obligation to implement since they nullified the entire treaty and refused to implement sanctions. And now there is simply no reason for the Russians to obey ANY treaties.

It's weird.

17

Also @5

And the partisan blindness and cognitive dissonance it takes to disregard 33 plus indictments of close Trump cronies and Russians involved in a clear conspiracy with the foreign intelligence service of a former KGB agent is simply mind boggling.

We know have THREE of Trumps hand picked lawyers under indictment - two have ADMITTED and plead guilty to crimes related to involvement in this conspiracy.

We have Trumps campaign manager ( Paul Manafort, who has been convicted on charges of tax fraud, bank fraud and failure to report foreign bank accounts associated with Russian money laundering) and deputy campaign manager BOTH admitted to and plead guilty to crimes related to involvement in this conspiracy.

We have Trumps hand picked National Security Advisor admitting to and pleading guilty to crimes related to involvement in this conspiracy.

BTW - Mitch Mcconnell's largest donor? Oleg Deripaska. The Russian thug Oligarch who Trump JUST lifted sanction on. What a coincidence.

Any other president, particularly a LIBERAL president — would have been long gone by now over crimes like this. Thirty years ago Trump would've been executed by now.

@1:

Back in the day my friends who graduated from Bainbridge High School used to tell us there was a water tower adjacent to their campus where some wag had painted a large bulls-eye on its peak, as it was considered "ground zero" for any high-yield thermonuclear ICBM intended to take out the Bremerton Naval Shipyards, the Bangor sub base and irradiate a goodly portion of real-estate on the east side of the Sound in one fell swoop. It was probably apocryphal, but still a cogent reminder of the fact that a massive cloud of nuclear fallout won't be contained by some arbitrary boundary such as the Seattle City Limits.

So, you know, if Kim or Putin ever do decide to drop a Big On on us here, I hope you at least have enough time to enjoy your brief moment of smug superciliousness before you're either completely vaporized or (preferably) suffer an agonizing death from acute radiation poisoning. Because, in the words of the (very nearly) immortal Tom Lehrer: We'll ALL go together when we go.

America had this shit figured out with “big government” and “small government”. It appears the rest of you missed the bus.

@1 Larry, @5 & @14 Curly, and @10 Moe: Is it a little slow down at juvee? WHAP!, WHAP! and WHAP! You can thank your pal, raindrop for his brilliant suggestion of paddling trolls.
@15: ....says a typical troll who keeps screaming into the night. Maybe you should cut back on the caffeine.

21

@16 & @17 ProfessorHistory and @18 COMTE: I know, right?

We're all in this together, folks.

@17
If you’re right, I’m sure we will see him in jail or executed soon. But at this point, if you are right, what does it say that Meuller has allowed a Russian operative to run this country for two years? Would Meuller do that? What would that say about Meuller and his allegiances? I think you may be bitterly disappointed... if Meuller had the goods on Trump, he would have punched his ticket by now, and if he doesn’t have the goods yet (after 33 indictments), there may be no goods to have. That’s just my opinion though.

I mean... Do you honestly believe that Trump is a criminal mastermind brilliant enough to stay always one step from justice’s reach as his evil empire goes down around him?

The press says he’s a bumbling idiot... or is that just his cover?

23

Oops! New XS seems to auto correct mueller to Meuller... My iPhone hangs its head in shame...

24

@22
It's called the discovery phase, lack-wits, and according to the experts, he's moving at near light speed.

25

@24
Well, I hope he gets it done in time for impeachment proceedings to grind The House to a stand still for a long time before the 2020 election.

26

Bernie is a "literal Soviet stooge"? I must've missed that.

The conservatives haven't been on the right side of an argument or issue ... for what? 100 years now? Maybe longer? Or maybe ever. Hmmm.

In any case, I hope we never have to find out what the consequences of a nuclear attack would be.

27

The best that NK could likely manage wrt actually hitting the US with a nuke is an air-burst somewhere in the VERY general vicinity of it's target. Like, easily 100s of miles off.

An air-burst of that level of imprecision would afflict us with an EMP (electro-magnetic pulse) that might knock out electronics & power-grid in a wide radius, and a plume of radioactivity that would drift across the US. But probably few-to-zero fatalities.

Anyway, NK is not going to --initiate-- a nuclear exchange, because that would mean suicide. Nukes are kept as a backstop guarantee of pain against an aggressor.

Considering that the US wiped out about 1/3rd of the NK population during the Korean War, --did it once, will we do it again?-- NK's bitter feelings and lack of trust towards the US is entirely understandable.

@11 -- With inequality at an all time high, how's that "'free market' capitalism" workin' out for ya? Can't wait to get back to the era of Lake Erie catching on fire, and children working in factories? The 8-hour day (brought to you by Labor Unions) too good for ya? "Let the weak starve"? ey?

28

We can only hope

29

@22 You think it’s all some joke or political hit job?

First, Meuller’s a life long republican. He’s a war hero. And has an impeccable 30 years record busting spies and mobsters. That’s some long con the democrats are playing getting a sleeper agent into the FBI for thirty years.

You think arresting the most powerful man on earth is some simple casual thing?

This investigation has produced more indictments and more results in 18 months than any Special Council in history.

The republicans have been soaked in Russian oligarch bribes... er, donations, for a decade now. Unraveling that shit could take down the US. Which is what Putin wants. So all this has to be done with exceptional care. And it has been.

Even if they have Trump’s pee tape AND some other 100% sure evidence (which is what you appearantly require in anyone not a democrat or Hillary Clinton) there is no way, with the full implications of what that would do to the country, they just arrest a sitting president. That won’t happen.

What they will do use it to keep Trump in line. Because he won’t have power for ever. And once he is out of power he is god damned toast.

No. This isn’t about what Meuller should be doing or how fast or whatever mythical timeline you have invented to satisfy your rank hypocrisy.

It’s about what the citizens of the US should be doing knowing ALL of the above is true. That Trump is compromised by the agents of a strategic foe and foreign power. The depth of that conspiracy is irrelevant. How much Trump is conscious of his complicentcy is irrelevant. What is known NOW is enough sow doubt that undermines all trust in the executive and you god damned well know you wouldn’t tolerate this in a democrat.

I looked at your posting history and - wow - the amount of dumb! You’re clearly a troll. The number of times you posted about Benghazi? And THIS is no big deal to you? It’s not because your a fraud and a troll. And honestly nobody should be wasting time with you.

"I'll be reminding you how much the Mueller investigation cost when that sham finally washes up on shore with nothing in the bottle." --Putin'sRightHandMan.*

Sorry -- you're obviously thinking of the BenGauzi Investigation. Make that InvestigationS. Or, since you're Obviousy a 'fiscal conservative,' Ben Gauzi Investigation$. What were there, like forty? And Hillary's STILL not in jail?! Better call for Forty One. And, Damn the Costs!

*that must keep you pretty Busy
Mind the tendonitis!
