Inslee’s failed to do anything significant about climate change in Washington state, so yeah, take that national.

2

A man who failed to get not one, but two carbon tax schemes passed in Washington State is going to try and do the same nationally.

3

Sounds like you have a "I like Starbucks coffee" but "I don't want to admit it" syndrome, Timothy.

Starbucks coffee is excellent. Nice crisp bite that coffee amateurs complain as "burnt".

4

I was skeptical at first but I think I'm actually glad Inslee is running. He doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell, but perhaps we get someone a little less milquetoast as governor this time...

I cant watch the video on the Patriot Prayer topic atm. But did those guys go home after the police asked them to leave? If so, that seems like the best way for the Portland Police to handle the situation, they don't want to arrest people, process them, throw them in jail then let them go hours later. They just want everyone to leave.

That photo of a short, bald dork wearing a puffy vest AGAIN?

7

Beto O’Rourke?
Well, Jay may not be the absolute biggest loser in the race...

1 It's your post-modern age, donut! One does not have to logical, true or believable to take it national. Where the fuck was your dumb ass in 2016?

@3 I definitely wouldn't describe the regular Starbucks espresso as "crisp" unless preceded by "burnt to a..." It has to have that super strong bitter taste otherwise you wouldn't be able to taste it in the glorified milkshakes most of their customers buy. It's pretty bad in anything resembling a normal coffee drink though.

That said, these days Starbucks sells other coffee varieties that aren't terrible. Even their new blonde espresso blend isn't bad, and they have that pretty much everywhere. I'm sure you can get a very decent cup of coffee at the giant fancy store like the one in the article.

I can't taste any coffee in Starbucks drinks, overwhelmed by the milk in lattes, chocolate in mochas, sugar in everything else, so blech. It's amazing that they managed to snuff out all the competition that were so much better. Or maybe not, considering how other countries' cuisines have to remove most of their spices to succeed in the U.S., we Americans clearly like bland as our favorite flavor.
But then I started the coffee addiction with dark French roasts from the highlands of Vietnam, so maybe most of my coffee tastebuds are toast.

12

@11: Then order Americanos instead. Your tastebuds aren't toast. I too have enjoyed Vietnamese coffee. You still enjoy a fine Cabernet after a table red, right?

"Pakistan and India [...] It’s a bit terrifying how quickly and easily this fighting flared up between two nuclear armed countries."

If you find this scary, just wait till Himalayan glaciers have largely melted out and see what it does to their shared water supplies (Indus River)

Then the Frakkkers better hurry it the fuck up and get all the gas outta the ground (and frakkking juices IN) before there's a moritorium on injecting pure Poison into their precious aquifers -- like they do. right. Here.

NPR pointed out that Inslee is the first governor to wade into the Dem field for 2020. I was shocked that as many candidates as have already announced, he's the first governor. Seems like there's always a handful each year, so I can only imagine how many more have yet to pile on.

@13: I also saw Mission Impossible: Superman Is the Bad Guy. It was fun, right? Ving Rhames gets more entertaining with each one.

16

I'll proudly vote for Jay. Nobody is as well qualified or has a better chance. Bernie, Biden, and Warren are too damn old, the rest don't have Inslee's depth of experience.

17

I would vote for Inslee if he's the nominee.

I'd never vote for Sanders. He's way too fucking old (much older than all the other "old" candidates). If he were the party nominee, I'd do what many of his supporters did last time around - either not vote or vote for some airhead third party candidate in protest.

I'd vote for Harris, but she's a very long shot to get the nomination. Warren's Native American claims don't sit well with me, even though I'm not Native American. I think that might be her Achilles heel and she won't get the nomination because of that, not her age.

If Biden enters the race it likely will be at the last minute. He'll have soul searched too long to have built up any momentum. But, I don't think he'll run.

All the rest of those who've declared so far are largely unknown outside their states and districts. When I read of their announcements, I had to Google them to find out who they were. That hardly makes them viable national candidates.

@15 I had no idea that it was part of a movie script. I guess why not if it helps make people aware of big issues.

Interesting that it's apparently ok to exhibit one's ageism in the Me Too era.
