OneBusAway uses real-time tracking.

re: Timothy taking the GRE's. Good for you for wanting to continue your education. Be mindful that you'll be taking on a lot of debt (presumably) and we're entering the end of this current economic cycle. Crossing my fingers you'll be pursuing a degree that you can parlay into a good paying career. Otherwise, maybe skip graduate school?

Yeah I don't get what this p-track does that OneBusAway doesn't. You can see buses on their route with OneBusAway and it actively updates arrival times. If for some reason the system isn't working it will give you the scheduled arrival, otherwise it uses GPS to estimate arrival time. Doesn't do ferries though I guess.

Hey tempur_tempur, #4, the correct usage is "well paying", not "good paying". You should not be giving advice on education!

@1 OneBusAway has an API which anybody can use to present the same data in a different format, which is probably what's happening here. I find OneBusAway a bit difficult to use, there's a lot of data, so there's room for improvement, but this student project doesn't seem that special.

@6: Sorry. You thought you could torpedo tempur_tempur's advice and kind words by with your grammar police snark. It tells us that you're not the one to give advice on education, e.g. 'don't let perfect be the enemy of the good.' Much less, bad manners.

9

@7 good marketing work though. That's a skill. (Sophistic skill sometimes but hey.)

Cosigning raindrop@8, though also concerning the advice I would guess Timothy has thought about money before.

I just wake up and look out the window and see my car there. One Car Away.

P-Track isn't an app and it's not meant to help transit users. It's a web visualization and it's strictly for wonks and enthusiasts.

"... don’t break out your pitchforks just yet, I’ll let you know if they follow through [lifting the wolf-hunting ban] and we can all sharpen our pitchforks together."

WHOA. You journalists hunt fucking Wolves with Pitchforks?!

RESPECT.

I may be willing to give it a try - should they institute wolf hunting -- but by Gawd, I'm Sharpening BOTH fucking ENDS. That'll teach 'em to live in MY Washington!

Wish me Luck.

"Huh if only there was a constitutional remedy for a president who openly refuses to follow the law...." --Michelle Goldberg

There IS no Constitutional Remedy.

Not when lawless Senate Republicans value Ideology over our Constitution.

He's taking US down.
ALL of US.
