I saw the trailer for this before Climax (what a strange Venn diagram these two films would make) and it got the theater moving. Excited to see it.

Tangentially, how has there never been a Mahalia Jackson biopic?*

*Looks like Director/Producer Bill Duke was shooting one last year.
