You are really coming to conclusions with no evidence and sources. What is this "supposed interview" where Julian suggests Seth Rich might be the source? Just saying Julian Assange used someone's murder is a buch of bullshit. How can you publish this and say Assange isn't a real journalist when you are pushing propaganda like this? Very sad.

4

Remember during the Before Times when liberals were absolutely queer for Julian Assange and Wikileaks? You know, Collateral Murder and whatnot? I’m not sure even Pepperidge Farm remembers...

5

Remember during the Before Times when right-wingers were absolutely frothing for Julian Assange to be hung and quartered and Wikileaks to be banned? You know, treason and whatnot? I’m not sure even Pepperidge Farm remembers...

6

I guess Assange wanted a dumb KGB-connected sociopath instead.

7

@3 -- That's not my conclusion. That's Mueller's conclusion.

9

Nice try stranger, we are never going to be satisfied unless Julian Assange kills someone with his own hands, which he won't do. He's not even complicit in the murder of anyone, which makes him more innocent than most of us.

10

You would think around 2016 he might have been considering doing fewer things that might lead to future indictments, not more. That said, he might be a jerk, but the US government has a flimsy case at best, which doesn't necessarily mean that they will not win a conviction.

12

I hope he spends the rest of his life in prison.
The harm he did is incalculable.
And shame on all of the right-wing echo chamber who helped to spread his lies.

13

nothing will alter the inescapable fact that the dems handed the white house to trump when they nominated what was possibly the only candidate worse than trump himself. it's time for pelosi, hoyer, biden and the rest of the democratic gerontocracy to exit and et the younger crowd fight for the issues that matter: inequality, racism, health care for all etc.

14

He shone a fuckaova LOTTA Light on the dark side
of ours, and other Governments'. And that's a Good Thing.

Unfortunately, Assange proved unhandy with all that Power he'd achieved.

If History, repeats, Trumpfy's incompetent incontinent Administration'll get a death grip on Assange and then "lose" him, like they might some lowly refugee kid from Latin America, whose government we overthrew and who decided fleeing gang warfare, the coming famine and corrupt reich-wing governments gunning down Journalists in the streets were not really worth sticking around, and dying for.

15

From Assange down Sean Hannity's throat to get regurgitated back to all the dementia patients in Fox News' captive audience

16

@3/7 I recall after Seth Rich was murdered, Assange/Wikileaks posted a $25,000 reward for any tips leading to the capture of his murderer. I think there were some other things too but that reward plus bots (probably Russian) led to a conspiracy theory that people ran with.

17

Good post, Frizelle.

18

@3, if you download a copy of the report and have someone read it to you, you'll find that the "source" was an interview Assange gave to (wait for it!) Megyn Kelly, when she was still on Fox News.

19

Despite so many efforts to paint them as heroes . . .

Assange is not a hero. Manning is not a heroine. Snowden is not a hero. I will never view any of them with anything other than contempt.

I'm all done here so if you reply to this. I won't be back to read it.

20

19

Exactly. They're no more Heros than Daniel Ellsberg.

21

But her career clearly demonstrates that Clinton IS a sadistic sociopath! No sense arguing with the truth, Stranger. And unlike you unprincipled assholes, Assange is a journalist.

22

He wasn’t wrong about Hillary.

23

I don't know about Assange himself, but he's correct about Hillary. And it would apply to BillBoy too.

24

62 million people in this country abandoning loyalty to any value or principle that brings meaning to life except "owning" some other people in reality-free argument: Crazy town.

26

Like many things, the Seth Rich theory is borne out of some coincidental/peculiar things that can be linked in a retroactive fashion to make a kind of "hmmm, that is odd..." kind of case, but in the presence of a simpler explanation, should probably be disregarded until hard evidence is found.

Whenever someone gets shot in the back twice in a robbery but nothing is stolen, people are going to start wondering things. Especially when it is soon after a John Podesta email that states he is willing to "make an example" of any suspected leaker, whether or not they leaked anything or not, and Assange is hinting at Rich being the leak.

Working backwards, it looks suspicious. But none of it is actual evidence.

27

Anyone else concerned about a journalist upset about another journalist trying to protect a source? That's what assange was doing, attempting to divert attention away from his source.

28

@27: As usual, The Onion is shockingly accurate:

29

@27 Assange isn't a journalist. He wasn't protecting a "source". He was hiding the fact that he was working directly for the Russian government. Fuck you.

30

Can anyone clarify whether or not there is any evidence that Assange knew that "Guccifer 2.0" was in fact a front for Russian espionage?

31

@29 @30 The red-baiting, neo-McCarthyite, John Birch Society-inspired "liberals" of Seattle have spoken. Yikes!

32

Assange and Wikileaks uncovers true information about corruption in politics and other global affairs. Please tell me what’s wrong with that.
