Owners of Kent-based e-recycling scam sentenced: LCD TVs and computer monitors have mercury filled tubes inside of them which, when broken, are really bad for us humans to inhale. Total Reclaim, their former company, claimed to be recycling these tubes, but really they were just throwing them on a boat to China and giving the recipients no warning about how dangerous that mercury was. It was the largest fraudulent e-recycling conviction in U.S. history and will land the two owners under supervised release for three years with a fine just shy of $1 million.

Bill ending vaccine exemptions headed to Gov. Jay Inslee’s desk: The bill ditches philosophical exemptions for the MMR vaccine, but religious exemptions would still remain. He’s expected to sign it shortly. The Senate and House had previously approved slightly different bills so they resolved those differences yesterday, delivering a big hit to anti-vaxxers all over the state.

A drone delivery company just got the first FAA approval: Although the FAA’s reputation is pretty tattered after this whole Boeing fiasco. The company, Wing Aviation LLC, now has the same designation under FAA law as a small airline, which means it has a lot more freedom to operate and grow. They’re planning to roll out their drone deliveries in two rural Virginia towns before scaling up to what I can only assume will be fodder for the next Black Mirror episode.

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes: It’s looking like a whole lot of sun and a whole lot of dry in our future.

A right-wing militia in New Mexico is facing eviction: The self-appointed group of heavily armed conservatives have been camping near New Mexico’s southern border and detaining migrants before turning them over to border patrol. Remember, these are just normal citizens with no legal power to detain people, but they look a lot like border patrol, especially to migrants who are experiencing America for the first time. The militia’s commander is in jail and authorities have told them to leave by this Friday, but they have no intention of leaving, setting up what could be a very contentious fight.

Ford goes all in on electric cars: Not only are they developing an entirely electric Mustang and F-150, they just invested $500 million in the company Rivian to build a new battery powered truck for the company. Rivian specializes in electric, off-road vehicles and they look oh so very good doing it, so this could be a big win for Ford.

Speaking of cars: An entire parking lot full of them was drowned in a Texas flood.

Mug shots: Thank you to everyone who showed me their mugs! There are so many good ones out there so let's dive in.

My parents sent me about a dozen pictures of our mugs from home so here's a mug from the preschool I went to. It got torn down because nothing good ever lasts. The preschool used to have a giant mural of Clifford The Big Red Dog on it that was iconic. RIP Covenant.

Jesse's mug has more attitude and confidence then I ever will.

Jim has a mug that is very spring-time appropriate, but let's not ignore his sweet bottle holder in the background. Well done Jim.

Shoutout to Rebecca in LA with the Peanuts Christmas mug. Great mug. 11/10 would drink from.

This lens costs almost $3000, but for 1% of that money you can get a pretty sweet coffee mug like Will did. Be smart like Will.

Now listen here you $#!%: This is certifiably some of the best morning music ever made. Mississippi John Hurt is a legend of front-porch blues and it's worth listening to all his recordings of which there are sadly not enough. This is one of my favorite tracks and is perfect for some easy morning coffee-drinking.
