Dow would be a much more efficient public servant if he didn’t look like Mel fucking Brooks.

3

Trump would be a much more efficient public servant if he didn't look like some failed Russian genetic experiment gone horribly wrong.

4

@2 Exactly. And why the sudden need to stop deporting illegals for the airport? They’ve been doing it from there for years, especially when Obama ramped up deportations. I once heard a pilot at Kenmore Air’s terminal call the flight “Alien Air” when one took off a decade ago. Would you prefer they go home by bus?

Countries have borders and laws. If you don’t understand that you’re not fit for office.

5

Thanks for the update, Lester. Hopefully they'll be able to make some more progress on this and put a stop to these flights.

7

@5 King Dow vs. the Feds. At least @6 sees this for what it is, pandering. There ain’t no way he can stop this unless the county is willing to lose millions in federal funds to support the airport, spend millions in court, watch the airport lose its federal international designation and become an “air field” and lose millions in taxes when businesses pullout.

Masturbation indeed. But such excellent moral preening.

The aircraft leasor? Wells Fargo. True story. Our government pays this welfare queen to lease aircraft that the (25B dollar bailed-out) bank owns in order to fly to other countries individuals who desperately wish to be American taxpayers. Do a registration number search on the aircraft tail's 'N' number. It'll tell ya.

MoLester paints this as Trump cruelty, but the actual report states:
"The average monthly number of people on deportation flights leaving Boeing Field has oscillated from a high of 544 per month in 2011...; throughout the dataset, the average is approximately 360 per month.
Under the Trump administration, the numbers ... have yet to match the pace of deportations during the Obama-era "
Lying propagandists parading as "journalists" are why the American people recognize the Leftist Media as enemies of America.

11

Sig Sauer,

You are letting you right-wing Obama hate cloud your perception of reality.

There is no such thing as the "leftist media." That is pure right-wing balderdash.

Maybe we should just demand the US end it’s occupation of Cascadia.

This place hasn’t really felt like the United States in a long while, anyway. Our history is different than theirs. Our culture is different from theirs. We value very different things.

Why not make it a formal divorce, and just end what is obviously a failed attempt at political union?

We can take Oregon along for the ride, and just ditch the rest of it.

love your sense of humor.

Lester tells us:

"Cameron Satterfield, a spokesperson for the airport, said there were around 150 such contracts at the airport that expire at a wide variety of times, from the end of this year to decades out into the future. Satterfield is not clear how soon they will be able to update the terms of the leases."

But if you read the actual UWCHR report (available here https://jsis.washington.edu/humanrights/2019/04/23/ice-air-king-county/ ) you will see it says:

"...if the County takes its commitment to “sanctuary” seriously, it must go further than simply enforcing existing law. It should actively renegotiate its leases with FBOs like Clay Lacy, inserting new requirements for adherence with basic human rights provisions. The fact that leases typically run for multiple decades does nothing to preclude their renegotiation in light of shifting circumstances. In fact, Clay Lacy/Gateway will require a new FBO lease if the company succeeds in expanding its footprint by 48,000 square feet, as its new owner, Modern Aviation, recently announced its intention to do. This provides a ready-made opportunity for the introduction of realistic human rights terms. The county is also responsible for approving land use permits for the company’s stated expansion, although thus far County officials have declined to state whether such permits have yet been issued or not."

The above indicates a possible near term path for King County to exert control over its facilities being used to perpetuate human rights abuses and violations of international asylum law.

Can we just deport Tim Eyman?
