There comes a time of night when the mind turns to ghosts, cryptids, and unexplained phenomena. It's that hour when you let in the unknown, and shades reveal themselves, and possibilities open. The hour is 10 pm, as everyone knows. Last month we started Give Up the Ghost at 9 pm, just to experiment with the format. Big mistake. It wasn't late enough.

The special guest this month is Garrett Kelly, best known as one of the geniuses behind Hollow Earth Radio, but he is also one of the masterminds behind Liminal Earth, an interactive online map where people can post "peculiar moments and bizarre encounters" with "fairies, ghosts, bigfoot, time travelers, extraterrestrials, ultraterrestrials, crow conferences, sentient lawn computers," and more.

Garrett is going to be talking about an eyewitness report from 1948 in Bremerton—a woman saw a creature in her laundry room, a creature that frightened her and gave her nightmares, and contacted a magazine about it at the time. Liminal Earth has been investigating the story to see what they can uncover, but "the sighting happened in an area of Bremerton that eventually got incorporated into Navy property, which may make this a more difficult investigation."

What did she see? What has the investigation uncovered so far? Garrett will share the details. If we have enough time, we may also get a chance to discuss the screaming well in South Seattle that Garrett recently visited personally. It's near a cemetery that got paved over into a parking lot.

There will be a Corpse Reviver drink special. If you have a flashlight, bring it and you can draw on the ceiling with your beam of light as you listen.

Give Up the Ghost with Garrett Kelly is Saturday, May 11, at 10 pm. You're advised to arrive around 9 if you want to make sure you get a seat. Last two months were packed.
