Exit interviews from an "exodus" of Seattle Police officers: KUOW has the scoop on why officers are leaving the Seattle Police Department seemingly en masse. From their unredacted exit interviews, it seems dozens of officers cited the political climate in Seattle as a reason for leaving. One person wrote, "City Council sucks.ā€ Eighteen officers left SPD to go to other neighboring departments.

Gov. Inslee and Attorney General Bob Ferguson at odds with EPA: The Environmental Protection Agencyā€”a shadow of its former self under the Trump administrationā€”wants to ease water quality standards for PCBs (chemicals that are likely carcinogens) in Washington waterways. Did you have a good Mother's Day? Cool, but I bet it wasn't as good as Russell Wilson's mom's day.

Amazon to expand new warehouse tech, cut jobs: Amazon has developed machines that automatically scan products going down a conveyor belt and covers them in product-specific boxes. The machines, expected to be implemented two-at-a-time in dozens of warehouses, will eliminate 24 roles (held by humans) each. An antitrust lawsuit against Apple: Developers allege that Apple has unfairly used its monopoly power to set the price of App Store apps. The case, which was reviewed by the Supreme Court, was allowed to move forward. Weirdly, Justice Brett Kavanaugh sided with the more liberal justices on a 5-to-4 vote. The App Store is pretty much the end-all-be-all when you think about it. Without the App Store, would we have anything on our phone? The class-action lawsuit centers on the cut of sales Apple takes from App Store purchases.

Bill Nye got real about climate change: Everyone's favorite science guy got blunt on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver talking about carbon pricing. And then talking about climate change in general.

This dog disease can spread to humans: There's a disease that dogs have that humans can get. In Iowa, humans have started contracting canine brucellosis. The symptoms? For dogs, it's a whole lot worse: "infertility, spontaneous abortions and stillbirths." For humans, you basically get the sniffles. That and "fever, sweats, headache, joint pain and weakness."
