Okay, he's not exactly a vampire, but Robert Alfons, the leading figure behind the dark synth-pop band TR/ST (pronounced Trust), is a man gifted with a spooky baritone that could seduce Count Dracula. TR/ST's grimy, sinister tracks get bodies moving, even when it’s unclear what Alfons is muttering. See "Shoom," the first cut off TR/ST's debut album, TRST:

TR/ST’s original co-founder, Maya Postepski from the Toronto band Austra, has returned to collaborate on most of the tracks from TR/ST's latest album, The Destroyer - Part 1. She had been previously absent on the band's recent album, Joyland. The Destroyer - Part 1 is a welcome release, nearly three years in the making.

TR/ST will be joined tonight at Neumos by composer and singer Lydia Ainsworth, who will open the evening, and backed by Lia Braswell on drums and Esther Munits on keyboard. Last year, Munits performed Capitol Hill Block Party wearing a bright red singlet, giving off a strong impression that Munits could kick someone's ass and also give them a Tarot reading. Alfons, looking like he had just wrestled a gator, wore reptile-skinned pants and gave off serious Joe-Dirt-goes-to-Pony vibes.

If goth gays had an orgy in a graveyard, TR/ST is what they would play as their soundtrack:
