Is Matt Shea on his period?

2

Bike lanes are good for business.

3

Only days until derivative controversy erupts when spiteful Trumpian merchants refuse to accept Tubman-stamped twenties.

4

Or until the Donald stamp comes out.

5

@4 - ha, indeed.

Banks would pull a stamped bill out of circulation, wouldn't they? If so, individual bills aren't going to circulate for long. Spoilsports.

6

We need to stamp out RepubliKKKans. Make America Think Again.

7

Sydney is leaving KUOW and heading over to the Seattle Times! Congratulations to her!

A "Christian" Sharia bake sale
what a wonderful idea!

Oh, and speaking of baby killers, I heard today that in The Olde Testament, apparently God ordered someone to abort their misbegotten (adultery? hmmm -- not sure...) fetus by ingesting some plant that'll do it.

Apparently even God knows when shit's right, and when it's not.

So if the "patriots" succeed at secession, don't they realize we won't be Sponsoring them anymore? Where will they go for their Handouts?

9

kristofarian dear, God was a horrible person in the old testament. He gave a recipe for abortion, but only if you think you're not the father of the child (or something like that). But, generally speaking, he didn't hesitate to kill people off

As for trump and treason, remember: Conservatism is based on paranoia, victimhood, and projection. He's projecting.

10

Edith Wilson deserves a stamp. She was de facto the first female president.

11

@9 I wouldn't call the GOP and/or trump conservative, would you? I'd think radical (right) is more apt. Conservative implies status quo, no?

12

@10: Florence Harding as well.

13

@11: Yes. Nothing conservative about the Trump administration in the economic and political sense, save playing to religious and social conservatives, as Trump is an autocrat in training and authoritarianism is all about the power of he state as opposed to empowering the individual.

14

Let's say Facebook removes all the copies they host of the faked Pelosi video. Now Fox hosts it. Should Facebook block a post that links to the Fox story?

I guess what they could do is, since I assume currently they render that post with the video ready in your stream? Just rendering a text blurb would be a useful change, probably.

15

@13 I'd like to agree with you, honestly, but 90% of self-described conservatives have embraced Trump. That's telling us he's what they mean by conservative, whatever we might wish they meant.

I mean Rand Paul a supposed libertarian is on board.

What psychology explains these 90% to you? I see what Catalina points to is absolutely operating. And has been for a long time, before Fox existed too.

17

tempur_tempur dear, I don't think conservatism even exists anymore. However, there's a lot of bible-addled nitwits, crypto-fascists, and sociopaths who call themselves conservatives, so I guess they co-opted the term.

18

Conservatives are probably hiding out with the Liberals;
those folks who fought for freedom of religion, a free objective nonpartisan press, racial color-blindness, free speech, I may disagree with what you say but will defend with my life your right to say it...
Folks who would be disgusted by the intolerant hate mongering fascists that make up The Left today.

19

9
God didn't kill anyone who didn't really really deserve it.

21

@18: we hate you for the content of your character. that's not intolerance. or mongering. or fascism.

conservatism doesn't get a no-true-scotsman with president sociopath. you bitches own this.

22

@15: I admit, I draw a blank on that. The astonishingly high sycophant level for Trump in the GOP is disheartening. The only answer I guess is that power corrupts, and the thirst for a powerful leader from Trump's base - and he's still an empty canvass that they can paint their myopic desires on.

23

21
We Gladly own this, Our President.
We feel sorry for you, and the rest of the Hate filled Left.
Hate destroys the hater, it doesn't phase the hated.
You should try to take what Dr King taught to heart;
“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”
We would give you a hug if you were here.

22
We can help you with that;
Trump still isn't Hillary, last time we checked.
And he has been a damn good President;
economically for the entire nation,
a foreign policy that finally seeks to protect America's interests,
judges Conservatives can swoon over;
he has been a better President than Reagan was three years in
and has delivered more policies that Conservatives support than any President since,
well,
forever.
The GOP has been taking Conservatives' money and votes without delivering for a long time,
Trump is a welcome improvement.
For those not blinded by hatred and envy Trump has been a Damn Fine President.

24

@1 - Matt Shea's period is somewhere around 1620. Unfortunately he wants us all to live there too.

25

@22 - Good one! Ha!

26

@23 Low Blow: Isn't it way past your bedtime?
Ditch the MAGA cap. We can tell you're low on vital brain tissue.
@1 spunkbutter and @24 dvs99 for the WIN.

27

@19 -- "God didn't kill anyone who didn't really really deserve it."

What about the Sandy Hook Massacre?
What about Genocide?
What about Charleston Church Massacre?
What about Genocide?

Whose side is your God on, Dog?

28

@23: What makes a "damn fine president"?

Have you ever known a "damn fine cook". Sure you have. Is not a "damn fine cook" passionately motivated by the professions of cooking and fine cuisine?

Every biographer, and people from Howard Stern to Michael Cohen, to Rex Tillerson confirm that Trump has zero passion for the job. He's not even curious about daily intelligence briefings that would probably be the most compelling and captivating part of day for anyone else who reaches that office. He's really only passionate about the trappings, and the staging it as if he was the writing the screenplay for his eternal movie.

So no, he'll never be a fine president. But you'll still get happenstance outcomes in his presidency that might please you, or even myself (such as going after China's IP theft), but it will always be a chaos presidency - because that's the tempo that suits him best and what's he's blocking the next scene for.

I'm too exhausted for another four years of this. You deserve better too.

30

Raindrop dear, the level of devotion for trump in the GOP Politician crowd is simple: The Russians didn’t just hack the Democrats. The GOP is being blackmailed.

31

@30: Plausible for some (e.g. the lure of oligarch money laundering capital windfalls) but doesn't explain all.

32

It doesn't have to work for all of them, Raindrop dear - some are just morons, of course. Others are sociopaths like trump. But there's no other explanation for Lindsay Graham. They've got something on him.

33

@32

I think it's possible that some political candidates might say the things they do mainly because they want their constituents to vote for them.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Lindsay Graham (R, S. Carolina) is one of them.

The Russians have learned that they don't need to go skulking about with cameras in potted plants and microfiche in a folded copy of last Wednesday's newspaper when instead they can hire a couple dozen bored hooligans to post sad frog cartoons on Twitter and radicalize a large and previously disaffected segment of the electorate.

Dear.

34

Do people still use cash?

35

Wow, so many conspiracy theories.
You kids are crazy.
Like, really.

27
God didn't kill any of those folks.
maybe you should read a newspaper or pick up a history book.

28
You know who else had a chaotic Presidency?
A.Lincoln.
As with Trump, he contended with a rabid evil pack of Democrats intent on destroying the Republic. Have you ever seen the things they said about him, called him?
Trump faces more hatred and evil that any President since Father Abraham.
Considering what he is working against he has had a remarkably successful Presidency.

36

@35:

Yahweh sure as hell didn't stop them from being killed, either.

And if you set that bar for "success" any lower, people gonna be tripping over it and spraining their ankles.

37

So nothing on any of the SIFF Shorts Award winners?

Why do you hate seahorse trainers and garage dancers so?

38

@23 Agreed. I am not a conservative but if I had a choice between a far-left, racist, sexist, identitarians who try to silence/intimidate opposition, and are open anti-semite (where have we see ln that before in history?), and a conservative, I would happily pick a conservative.

Trump is doing a pretty damn good job for his first term, so looking forward to his second one.

MAGA!
