Being a fan of English producer, songwriter, and musician Jai Paul requires the utmost patience. After only officially releasing two songs by 2012 , Paul all but disappeared from the music scene after an unfinished version of his album leaked in 2013. All of this wouldn't be notable at all had these two tracks and handful of unreleased music not completely altered the way many musicians now approach pop music. At once soulful, drawing inspiration from R&B and hip-hop, and infusing these genres with an electronic sensibility, Paul's understanding of what makes a song compelling was unlike anything else I'd heard before.

And so I, along with thousands of Paul's fans, waited patiently for years in hopes that this musician wasn't a fever dream that culture had collectively hallucinated and he'd release new music soon. There were hints that he still existed, with his brother A.K. Paul occasionally dropping music. But on Saturday, we were rewarded: Paul dropped not one, but two new tracks, officially released the material on his leaked album, and wrote a long letter to fans explaining what exactly went down in 2013.

"Do You Love Her Now"/"He" are two tracks that Paul was working on at the time of the leak; he wrote, recorded, produced, and mixed them entirely himself. This marks Paul's first official single release since 2012. "Do You Love Her Now" sounds like a slowed down, chopped n' screwed Prince song. It soars with its percussion and layered vocals—it sounds like a welcome home. "He" leans decidedly more 80's and genuinely sounds like a cut off the best video game soundtrack ever. Check them both out below (and hope we get more from him soon):
