"The light rail stop [at 130th] won't be functional for decades."

If Juarez and others are successful, it will open when Lynnwood Link opens, which is 2024, or 5 years away. It makes sense from a financial standpoint to open it with the rest of the line, not wait until later.

I think she will win easily. The candidates running against her the first time were all very good. I don't feel that way this time. They are relative lightweights, although not as weak as some of the other challengers (like the folks trying to beat Herbold in the first district). Unless she just phones it in, she will coast to victory.

Yeah, I'm always skeptical when I hear a challenger say things along the lines of "she/he is out of touch with the district, everyone I talk to says she/he doesn't get back to them on concerns"...pretty standard one-size-fits-all criticism.
I can't even manage to return all my emails & phone calls in a timely manner and I'm not answerable to thousands of people.
If they have to fall back on that...

meh, we all know SECB will endorse her anyway. Heck, they'll probably endorse Larry Gossett, and he couldn't even get the 43rd Dist Dems endorsement.

I live in District 5 and have not seen any activity from any of the other candidates -- no mailers, phone calls, or door knocks. Shouldn't they be ramping it up by now? I feel pretty certain Juarez has this one sewn up.

@6 Paving roads? This is the Seattle city council were talking about, they’ve got a whole planet to save! Potholes are for the little people.

@1

But 5 years feels like ‘decades’ for our intrepid, manbunned reporter.

Tim Burgess a conservative? In any other city in America he would be considered a liberal Democrat, almost a Socialist.

Get out of the bubble Lester. Burgess is somewhat to the left of John Hickenlooper and slightly to the right of Cory Booker.

The ability of far left activists to deride anyone to the right of Bernie Sanders as a Conservative is why we loose elections.

Is somebody hoping for a real job if Juarez wins? This sure reads like it.

Thank you for your time, Juarez. Good bye.
