@1:

Just a reminder that we're taking you with us when we go. We know you won't like it, heck you may even try to fight it, but we'll drag you along regardless of whatever amount of kicking, screaming, shooting, or puerile tamper-throwing you put in our way.

Performative wokeness.

I acknowledge I am on the ancestral land of the Coast Salish people. But no, you can't have my house keys.

4

Let's all remember Chief Seattle, Suquamish and Duwamish chief, exterminated the Chimacum tribe in 1847. Does his tribe have to do this little woke song and dance?

Why are you such an asshole? What happened to you? I hope things get better for you, and you no longer feel the need to spew sadness onto every Slog post every day.

There have got to be more constructive ways for you to spend your time and energy. I feel really sorry for you.

@5:

He was rejected by a girl in third grade and he still hasn't gotten over it, especially since there was so much teasing about it on the playground during recess. Of course, he's been continuously rejected by women - and the occasional man - ever since, but that first one really scarred him.

"Seattle is experiencing a renaissance of deference to its indigenous forebears, from a voluntary effort to pay rent to the Duwamish, who are not federally recognized,"

By the way, the only reason the Duwamish are not Federally recognized is because the Muckleshoot and Puyallup tribes oppose recognition, the Muckleshoot arguing the Duwamish are part of their tribe.

Apparently, they want to keep their monopoly on Blue Oyster Cult and Styx concerts.

The Duwamish should ah e federal recognition.

Aside from that you are owed ZERO. This piece clearly indicates they are benefiting from the so-called colonization. Apparently mostly white crowds enjoy their music.

I was born in Chehalis. I’m White. I’m no more a colonizer than they are. In fact I’m of Chehalis where my mom ate food grown from Chehalis soil, fish caught from the stream, etc.

You know, just wearing my roots in this land on my sleeve. Maybe I should write a song about it.

@8 Native Chehalian are you? From the Great Wolf Lodge tribe?
