We're going to hold off on impeachment: For at least a few blurbs. Skip down to the bottom of this post if you're thirsty for more impeachment-related news (which we've been covering all damn day).

Facebook grows in the Seattle region: They've reached over 5,000 employees and have 18 offices in Seattle, reports GeekWire. Facebook invited us to tour their new tower this morning but we're still butthurt about them blatantly disregarding Washington state law.

Wasn't this supposed to be the year America's biggest start-ups made their triumphant debut? It hasn't turned out so well. WeWork, Uber, Lyft have all struggled this year, and investors—who expected gigantic stock sales—are getting restless. Has the age of the unicorns ended? (A "unicorn" means many things, but here it means a privately held startup company valued at over $1 billion.) New York Times explores the question in a new feature here.

Trump administration will only accept 18,000 refugees in the next 12 months: Down from the current limit of 30,000. "Even that low figure may overstate the number of slots that could be open for unanticipated crises, since many of the openings have been allocated," writes the Times.

Renton police officer who allegedly SLAPPED and GROPED a confidential informant last month: Resigned.

J.Lo and Shakira will perform at the 2020 Super Bowl: Have you seen Hustlers? I wrote about it (and Juicy Couture) for the current issue of The Stranger. We also talked about it on this week's episode of Blabbermouth.

"A canine call to action": About 50 people protested in Longview on Wednesday in an attempt to raise the profile of a case where people allegedly dognapped and shot two dogs earlier this month, reports The Longview Daily News. The whole story is sort of confusing, but a cat is dead, too.

HOUSEKEEPING: Lester and Jasmyne are writing tomorrow's Slog PM. I got booked for a gig in Astoria, Oregon this weekend and have to leave early to catch a ride down south. I've never been to Astoria. Where should I go? (Jasmyne and I will still have a new Unstreamable up tomorrow afternoon—it's a fresh column you should read!!)

The "OK" hand symbol is officially a hate symbol: According to a new report by the Anti-Defamation League. It's this one: 👌. From CNN:

The finger-and-thumb OK sign is universally known for meaning everything is all right or approval of something. But the ADL says while not everyone means it to be hateful, the sign has been co-opted by the alt-right.

I guess it's time to pivot from one hate symbol to another: Trump. He's having another wild day. In addition to these three posts, here's where the impeachment process stands:

Kamala is asking the State Department IG to investigate Rudy Giuliani: I often mix up my letters and call him Judy Riuliani, which I also think is a good drag name.

A new poll shows Americans are fiercely divided on impeachment: While the poll is new, that fact certainly isn't.

Trump attacks the whistle-blower, calling the source a "spy": The LA Times has the audio.

Hillary is back on TV: She's got books to sell, people.

A headline to make you smile: "'IT’S MANAGEMENT BEDLAM': MADNESS AT FOX NEWS AS TRUMP FACES IMPEACHMENT." A snippet:

Among the powerful voices advising Lachlan that Fox should decisively break with the president is former House Speaker Paul Ryan, who joined the Fox board in March. “Paul is embarrassed about Trump and now he has the power to do something about it,” an executive who’s spoken with Ryan told me. (Ryan did not return a call seeking comment.)

It's funny that "now [Ryan] has the power to do something about [Trump]": Now that he's working at Fox News, but not when he was working as an ELECTED OFFICIAL.

We posted a blurb from Jasmyne's Sticker Patrol column on Instagram: And people have a lot of feelings. Would Kurt Cobain be on the front lines of the affordable housing movement? What neighborhood would Cobain live in if he was still with us? Is this corny? Did he start the fire? Wait, is that his condo or someone else's? And where's Francis Bean? Is she inside? Someone save the goddamn baby!!!
