I was listening to my CD (from the original CD releases in 1987) during my commute this week. The up-close sonic depth was great, but what really struck me was the sweetness of George's voice on his songs. It truly sounded like he was sitting next to me in the car, quietly telling me a story that was important to him.
Never could stand "Maxwell's Silver Hammer," then or now. Thank god for the ability to burn a CD or load a playlist that omits it from this otherwise great album.
Great article.
The Coverville Podcast just did a track by track Abbey Road episode.

Wonderful tribute to the Beatles, Ned! Abbey Road is one of my favorites.
The best half of that band is dead.
Thank god for Yoko. I’m glad she broke them up.
