"I've paid over ten billion in taxes. If I have to $20B, it's fine." --multimultiMultibillionaire Gill Gates

Love your Attitude, Bill. Your Generosity might give some Sloggers apoplexy but I guess it's worth it.

"But when you say I should pay $100B, than I'm starting to do a little math over what I have left over." He makes a great point, Senator. But didja really hafta say, "I promise it's not $100B"?

Gonna make even me begin to feel Sorry for the poor fellah...

Although, like Bernie says, when we're suffering from a massive, seemingly-unsolvable Homeless Crisis, and 87 million Citizens are un- or under-insured, should they get sick, they're fucked, most likely, and on the other hand, there are three people -- THREE PEOPLE -- who own more than HALF of our Nation's Wealth; when we have such inequality, just rampant in our Society, the Richest one on the whole fucking Planet, by the way, but when shit's like this, and contines to get worse, We Have A Problem.

Bill gets it -- he doesn't wanna see the pitchforks any more than we do. Perhaps there's some middle ground...

@1 Have you ever considered Sea-steading?

7

@1: I understand that sentiment, but it really is quite expensive to run a society. And we know the taxes cut by 976 will re-emerge in even worse taxes, like levies.

8

@5 -- how's the commute?
tele-?

9

What gynecologist considers that within the bounds of medical ethics? Licensure board should be all over this.

10

@9 In most states, until you are 18, you are property of your parents, unless you take them to court and emancipate yourself. Unfortunately, there are many states where that is not even possible, unless they have been convicted of criminal child abuse first. It amazes me that in many states a parent can be obviously putting their personal values ahead of the obvious best interests of their child, and be able to treat that offspring as chattel property, where in civilized places, would be jailed as child abusers.

How much do you want to bet T.I. is molesting the kid himself?

12

Not only are billionaires like Gates and Bezos the world’s richest people, they’re also the world’s biggest victims.

RE: Creepy guy's virginity test on his daughter.

"When asked whether he applied such standards to his 15-year-old son, T.I. said he did not, and that he in fact knew his son was sexually active and OK with it."

Well, that should piss a lot of people off.

1: Yes, governments collect revenue to pay for services even when conservative chuckleheads probably don't deserve them.

16

It whips ass that I pay property taxes on a home the government values at $300k in Seattle but I'm mad that the government values my Camry at Blue book "high" instead of "good".

17

Open minded is old white male code for "will massively subsidize my highly expensive nuclear fission dreams that no market would back".

Warren is fine. He's just whining.

18

Bill Gates: I'll pay 10 or 20 billion but not 100 billion in taxes because then what would I have left?

Bernie: If you paid 100 billion, it would improve the lives of millions of people and you would still be a multi-billionaire.

Warren: Don't worry Bill, I won't make you pay that much in taxes. We should meet!

Liberals: Wow, Warren is such a fighter!

19

18: Normally I'd look past this because I like Sanders and I'm to the left of both him and Warren, but talking to someone is not a political crime. Honestly, are we really at the point where even a conversation, or accurately describing one's own tax plan, is some kind of betrayal of ideals? You should just stop because you're embarrassing your own team with this tankie nonsense.

20

T.I. is one sick assed mother fucker

@JMS

I did not criticise her for being willing to talk to him. Read what I said. She said- in her tweet, in her words- that she promises him that his tax burden would be less than the 100 billion that he 'joked' about being scared to pay. She chose to reassure him that she isn't coming for that much of his wealth.

Sanders responded to the exact same moment by tweeting that if Gates were in fact to be taxed 100 billion, he would still be a multi-billionaire. Which is true. And he reiterated that billionaires should not exist in the first place since you can't earn that much money, it's a failing in public policy if they are able to accumulate so much. (In fact, it can cause both a crisis of over accumulation as well as giving them undemocratic power over the public sphere- both of which Gates is a great example of).

But even still, my post was not to criticise Warren but rather to make fun of liberals who see these two responses and go for the nice lady that's trying to reassure one of the richest men on the planet that she's not going to take so much of his money.

What's ironic is that you are calling me a tankie for support a slightly left of center social democrat who is trying to enact policies that would save liberal capitalism from slipping into some sort of post-nation state free for all with a heavily armed/defended oligarchy.

And btw, in the very same clip that Gates said this bullshit, he also apologized for legitimizing Jeffrey Epstein even after his first sexual conviction. So yea, I get that any leader will have to be open to meeting with all sorts of horrible people, Bernie would have to meet with him too as would any true tankie if this were the 1950s. But they don't have to offer him reassurance or be on jokey friendly terms.

I will come back to this comment a year from now and I will been right:

If Warren or Sanders gets the nomination, Trump wins reelection.

Sure as the sun rising tomorrow.

Deal with it.

23

22: Okay dude.

24

~40 million people are living below the poverty line in the US. 100B distributed to those 40 million is a one time payment of $2500 bucks a person.

25

It’s so weird that everyone expects rap stars to be these paragons of social justice. Some are, like Boots Riley. Most of them wanted Trump to appear in their videos before he got elected though.

Have you ever actually listened to gangsta rap? It’s all “kill faggots and bitches”, and “I am the most psychopathic killer of all time”, and “money is the solution to all problems”. I mean, come on, it’s capitalist as all hell, it’s violently homophobic and completely misogynistic. What, did you think the idiots who write that crap are into Planned Parenthood and the labor unions? I can assure you, they have no interest in attending a wedding between two grooms, and they aren’t voting for a female POTUS.

Whenever I hear that you’re all so shocked that a gangsta rapper is violent toward women or gays, I wonder if you’re even paying attention.
