The flavors appeal mostly to very young people. If you look at brands like Chronic Carts, they are patterned after well known candy brands, even mimicking the Willy Wonka logo or the font used on packages of Gummy Bears.

Further, these flavors are more likely to appeal to younger persons, whose taste buds for detecting sweet flavors are more developed in their teens. They also perceive bitter flavors more acutely than older persons, so the standard tobacco flavor will be less appealing to them.

I favor a ban on flavors. While I’d rather have a blanket ban on all materials, the flavor ban makes sense if we are to fall short of that goal. The industry will bitch, but I don’t see why Lester Black feels the need to carry water for a business model based on hopelessly addicting it’s customers as it slowly kills them.

7 To be honest with you I haven't voted for a Republican my entire life. But with people like you keep pushing me I just might start. You are really driving home the fact that those of us concerned about individual liberty do not have a place in the Democratic party anymore.
