Hahaha. Christopher, I love your description of Biden's mangled words. So true. I think that 90% of the time Biden mean's well, but it seems clear his descent into Alzheimer's has begun, and he can't quite get the words to string together to form a coherent sentence any more. He is obviously not as sharp as he once was.

God DAMN. I'm gonna steal that. The phrase "guiding wisdom of Pauly Shore" is just too great.

The "keep punching at it and punching at it and punching at it" bit certainly made my eyes bug out when I heard it. You know that line is going to be hung around his neck for the rest of the race too. The context of the question should be enough to keep him well away from such imagery, but... well, it's Biden. Would you even recognize his voice if he wasn't talking around his own foot?

I missed the first 10 minutes of the debate, but Biden was the first one I heard speak, and I kept getting the impression that he was fighting to get out every sentence in that first statement (that I saw). He stopped mid-sentence, then squeezed his eyes shut before continuing a moment later. You could almost hear him kicking himself, "Come on Joe, you know this!" He's just not up to this task anymore.

And I really hope Mayor Pete put an end to Tulsi Gabbard's run with his jab over Assad. "Pete, you'll agree that the service that we've both provided to our country as veterans does not, by itself, qualify us to serve as Commander-In-Chief" (8:15 in the video Christopher linked) yet that argument - that she should be president because she's a vet - seemed to be 90% of what came out of her mouth last night.

@10 You're more than old enough to at least once have seen a middle-aged person take an ill-advised bong hit based on peer pressure, and then spent the rest of your evening dealing with the fallout.

Biden on pot would just be a paranoid nervous wreck of the sober Biden. Basically he'd be The Onion's old version of Biden, except pathetic and defensive and maybe a little racist instead of weird and cool and epic.
