I'm seeing a discrepancy here on the I-976 vote percentages. From the Seattle Times story: "Marchione emphasized that 53% of voters within the transit district sided for keeping the car-tab taxes and against I-976."

Nathalie here is saying: "Sound Transit will keep collecting car-tab taxes in its transit district since 51 percent of voters here voted against I-976...."

So is it 53% or 51%? All I know is that, if you add up all of King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties, I-976 went down 49% to 51%. Now, the Sound Transit taxing district does not include all of Pierce County. I don't recall about the other two counties. However, I don't see that overlay difference being enough to go from a 49-51 result to a 47-53 result.

Anyone have a link to some real data on the results within the taxing district?

I am the only one who thinks Teslas are butt-ugly?

They look like cars tech nerds would think is good design.

6

Its ironic that as the number of polygons in CGI keeps going up, the number of them in tangible goods keeps going down.

8

Interesting that Durkan's "emphasis patrols" come on the 20th anniversary of the SPD-instigated WTO riot.

TODAY'S DRESS FORECAST : (¤ㅅ¤)

3 I have not seen any modern car designs that are aesthetically pleasing. Everything is just fragile and ugly and starting at $25K... hardly a choice.

11

@8: Please describe what's interesting about that conflation. Do you feel that tipsy drivers should get a pass just to give reverence to the thugs and anarchists of 20 years ago?

12

Attorney Criminal Bill Barf looks like spoiled meat; srsly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s terminally ill, and that’s why he DGAF about his reputation or legacy from the Tr666p regime.
His role has always been as an accomplice to help the liars and kleptocrats get away with it, and he has zero credibility on Epstein or any other matter.

13

Wow that thing is ugly. Don't worry though they can fix the "unbreakable" windows with a software update.

15

@3,

The sedans are a little goofily futuristic looking, but not all that different from other manufacturers recent designs. This thing though... Holy hamburgers, it looks like something out of a bad Mad Max rip off from the 80's.

16

@ 14,

Barf is in on the organized mass rape coverup; who knows what would’ve come out had Epstein gone through a trial, but Tr666p and/or his own father may have been implicated as well.
And WTF ever happened to all of the photos, hard drives, and other evidence seized by the authorities?

Yep, this all sounds totally normal:

“In 1973, Barr’s father Donald, the headmaster at Manhattan’s Dalton School, hired Epstein as a calculus and physics teacher.

While hiring Epstein, a noted mathematics genius, was not strange on its face, the hire was unusual for a couple of reasons. Epstein had not earned a college degree as he dropped out of New York’s prestigious Cooper Union. The other odd circumstance was that the new teacher was only 20 years of age.”

Hamilton Ontario, not Ohio.

Finally, a pickup truck with an 80s DeLorean look.

18 nailed it!

Re Tesla video: Why on Earth would Tesla develop unbreakable side windows (which could, and arguably do already exist if automakers wanted to sacrifice safety), the windshield will still have to made from auto glass. Meaning that would-be side window break in just tripled in price.

More innovation from the company that forgot to put a place for a front license plate on a car primarily sold in a state in which one is required.

re: Epstien. Anyone who as ever worked a night shift knows that people fall asleep. happens in medicine: hospital, nursing home, private care. particularly with 15 or 30 minute checks. you just hope something like this doesn't happen while you are on shift. Maybe they need to install button on each side of the hall that alarms until you hit it, like a train driver has. but that would cost $$.

23

@3,4,10,13,15 -- A friend of mine opines that all modern cars look like "used bars of soap". And you know, he's right. Well, except for this Tesla-DeLorean hybrid weirdness. That thing will sell about as fast as lead chickens can fly.

@21 -- Everyone knows that people sleeping on the job, especially guards in a jail, will sometimes accidentally erase or corrupt the video feed due to their copious snoring. Scientists aren't sure, but it has something to do with the frequency of the snore vibrations that messes with computer video in "unpredictable" ways. Wacky!

Somebody slipped 'em some Roofies.

More 'hot chocolate,' Guardy?
Say, you don't know where that
Epstein clown is, do ya?

Elizabeth Warren was right; and the newest, brutalist Muskmobile is traffic violence, personified.

An (nearly!) impenetrable cocoon of safety, featuring virtual reality, driver-to-driver communications, automatic anti-collusion (for Republicans) (rock and roll too, should you choose) and, coming up soon, capable of both underwater and, by 2030, deep space voyaging (results may vary)!

Plus, you can toss lots of shit like two-by-fours and four-by-twos in the back (trunk?). Maybe even room for the Labradoodle.

@raindrop most of the violence SPD perpetrated during the WTO wasn’t directed at the relatively few persons breaking things and causing mayhem downtown. For the bulk of the time it was directed in our Capitol Hill neighborhoods. They opened fire with rubber bullets and gas unannounced on regular people including families with children out on Broadway. Rather than disbursing the crowd they chased them into side streets into other patrols where they were trapped. Those that weren’t able to seek refuge in the safety of homes where people allowed strangers were either directly beaten or tossed around. I was there at Harvard and Thomas.

That was the incident across from the old Jade Pagoda where two college women were minding their own business only to be asked to roll the window down when they were gassed without warning. Or the TV news crew that was assaulted at Pine and Broadway capturing the out of control police van that deliberately drove into a crowded intersection to clear protesters. They thought everyone dressed in black was an “anarchist”. In 99 many if not most in that area wore some form of black as a regular dress.

Don’t pull the anarchist card if you weren’t there first hand. There was some property damage downtown and police responded by invading and occupying a neighborhood that had nothing to do with it.

Let's all give Tim Eyesore the finger and boot his sorry ass out of Washington State.
