Seattle Children's Hospital faces class-action lawsuit: Three patients exposed to Aspergillus mold in the hospital's operating rooms are expected to file a suit on Monday. If it's successful, the lawsuit going forward will include all child patients infected from 2000 to the present day. In that time, six patients have died and 14 have been infected by mold in the facilities.

A Mount Rainier earthquake: Our local volcano had a lively holiday weekend. Thanksgiving Thursday through Sunday, Mount Rainier has been shaken by around a dozen tiny quakes. The biggest was Sunday's 3.6 magnitude quake. Other than that, 1.0 magnitude was the biggest. Seismologists say that this is normal behavior for the mountain.

The Auschwitz Memorial asks Amazon to make some changes: The Poland museum asked the Seattle bookseller to please take down merchandise on its site depicting the Auschwitz concentration camp. One of Amazon's vendors was selling Christmas ornaments of the freight cars used to transport Jews to concentration camps during the Holocaust. There was also a bottle opener and a Birkenau “massacre” mouse pad for sale. Amazon has taken down the products.

A homeless shelter for Native adults: Eagle Village in Sodo is the first homeless housing project of its kind. It is aimed at supporting Native adults. The $3.3 million Eagle Village development run by the Chief Seattle Club opened at the end of October and has 24 units. All of its residents are American Indian or Alaska Native.

Dry weather today: The holiday weekend hangover is here. The late-fall doom and gloom will be staved off for another day. The wet won't come until later on Tuesday, however.

Anderson Cooper conducted his own version of "Seattle Is Dying": Yep, CBS's 60 Minutes dropped in to visit a tent city in Seattle for Cooper's report on homelessness in America. He interviewed homeless people, he talked about drug addiction and rising rent prices, and he interviewed Ari Hoffman, the failed former Seattle City Council District 2 candidate and bouncy house tycoon. That's all I need to know about this special.

The president of Ukraine has trust issues: President Volodymyr Zelensky did an interview with Time magazine. He's in a bit of a sticky situation, you know, with the whole "being at the center of the entire impeachment" thing. Zelensky has continued to deny any quid pro quo regarding withheld military aid to Ukraine. In fact, he still really needs US military aid or, at the least, he needs Donald Trump to stop talking about how Ukraine is corrupt.

Dakota Johnson doesn't give a fuck: The 50 Shades of Grey actor was on the Ellen show. Host Ellen DeGeneres whined about not being invited to Johnson's birthday party. But, Johnson pointed out, she was invited and just didn't go.

A holiday miracle in Michigan: On Sunday, marijuana was sold legally in the state for the first time. Crowds of people lined up to reap the benefits of becoming the 10th state nationwide to legalize marijuana. The legalization vote happened in 2018.

Steve Bullock just dropped out of the 2020 race: Who?

Organization created to protect the use of the apostrophe has shut down: The aptly named Apostrophe Protection Society is closing its doors because "ignorance has won." Formed in 2001 "to make sure the 'much-abused' punctuation mark was being used correctly," the society has been unable to fight the rampant incorrect usage of the mark.

Huge news: Alanis Morissette is doing a Jagged Little Pill 25th anniversary tour next year.

White House won't be at the House Judiciary Committee hearing: The inquiry is part of the ongoing impeachment investigations. It will be held on Wednesday. The White House was given from November 26 until December 1 to decide if it would participate. White House counsel Pat Cipollone said that it would not be participating and accused Democrats of deliberately planning the hearing for when Donald Trump would be in London for a NATO summit.

Registered sex offenders are using popular dating apps: Tinder, OkCupid, and Plenty of Fish don't screen for sexual predators on their platforms. Yet the parent company of all of these apps, Match Group, has the ability to do these screenings and background checks. It does it for users of Match.com. None of its free platforms get the same due diligence.

Melania Trump adds her personal flair to the White House: She says the theme is "The Spirit of America." I guess she would see the spirit of America as whiteness.
