I subscribe to BritBox and like it, but I'm a classic Doctor Who nerd (they've got almost everything available from William Hartnell through Sylvester McCoy). Without that, I probably wouldn't find it compelling.
That said, my partner really likes watching Are You Being Served because it brings back fond memories of watching the show with his mother as a kid. And I've had fun running through Blackadder again. Also 8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown is oddly compelling. Lots of classic murder mysteries if you got into PBS Mystery back in the day.
Still, if it weren't for Doctor Who, I probably wouldn't be subscribing.
Well once they figured out people were cutting the cable cord for good they realized they were going to have to force people to sign up for as many streaming services as possible to make that money back. We're sticking with two and one will never be Amazon no matter how much content they absorb. Oh well. I see it as just another way they are forcing people to stop watching "TV" of any kind. That's good as far as I'm concerned.
Neat, might have to check out Hi-YAH and Britbox. Crackle is another streaming service I've used a couple times, it was completely free which was nice (with limited ads).
I (a huge anime nerd) have VRV and I like it a lot, except the phone app is pretty buggy sometimes with casting. There's some specific titles I like that it doesn't have, so having access to Funimation Now, Amazon Prime and Netflix is helpful. But seriously, VRV has enough stuff - good AND bad - to absolutely glut yourself on.
The Food Network is the latest to start its own subscription streaming service.
For those of us with very eclectic viewing tastes as well as limited funds to spend on streaming services, this is a very sad list indeed. At this point, I'm thinking just having cable is the most cost effective option since the types of programs these services offer are broadcast on many of those hundreds of channels available with cable. I can't see subscribing to, say, CBS All Access just to watch the 200th Star Trek spinoff series. What a waste of money.
For me, the money needed to subscribe to multiple streaming services is much better spent at local independent bookstores (Third Place Books is my jam.).
I have Netflix because my nephew's children frequently stay with me and what they watch is streamed on Netflix. Kids their ages are inflexible in their viewing habits and they are accustomed to watching Netflix at home, It's a relatively inexpensive way for us to enjoy our time together (and keep the peace). Much of the time when I watch, I watch cable.
Since, I'm not an Amazon shopper (it's not the lowest price purveyor, not even among online vendors) Prime would be an expensive streaming addition to Netflix. Free next-day shipping on merchandise when I prefer not to shop on Amazon makes its streaming service unattractive. No thinks to getting roped into Amazon Prime. I can live without watching Amazon's shows.

The best is Studio Giblhi.

@1 I love those Countdown shows, but from what I can tell they all end up on Youtube for free.
Also, def have some nostalgia for Are you Being Served. I think it was on late Sunday nights or some other odd time on PBS as a kid.
I've been dying to watch Mad TV for years, anyone know if any of these services stream that?
