I Metro drivers. I really do. They get me where I need to go, they keep things pretty orderly, and most are genuinely friendly. I'm glad they're treated fairly well by their employer (us!), which (duh) probably contributes to most of them being the good workers and nice people they are. I ride the E-Line every day, and will keep an eye out for Russell Goodwine...

Fail. Nothing like a boombox that screams "my noise is more important than your peace".

@3 Really? Nothing about his great attitude, his tolerance, his empathy, his creativity, his innovation, his love for his kids, his work ethics, struck you? After driving the bus all day, he spends time building things for his kids, and all you got from the article was the boombox?

And where in the article does it say he was disturbing anyone's peace?

Republicans claim to be the hard-working, family values-party. Why are you not praising this man?

@4: Relax, it's about the "art" and not the artist. His virtues are indeed outstanding.

Maybe I'm biased because I've had unpleasant experiences in the proximity of boomboxes blaring on city buses.

6

I have an old leather, hard-shell, classic-style briefcase to donate to Russell — any contact info for him?

@blackhook. email me at dlewis@thestranger.com

You know...DJ GoodWine would also have been a good performance moniker.

Russell Goodwine is really neat on what he does and knows me well on the flyers i posted around town! I'll run into him again when I'm on the E Line!

That must require two simultaneous full time commitments

Great article about a really interesting and creative guy 👍👍

Oh my god! I know that bus driver! He is the only thing that makes the E-Line survivable.

This is a great read!! Everything works together.. and no industry, person, or profession is independent from the other, and so it's important to not look up or down on someone, because we have no idea what will inspire the change that will change the bigger picture!!
