There are hundreds of billions of galaxies with untold quadrillions of planets. Everything shifts with perspective...who are we to say that other untold stellar-macro-level forms, essences, and dimensions revolve and interact without consciousness from our limited understanding of what that entails.

Pilate considers Jesus the King of the Jews, and in his time he was a Jewish man in an isolated corner of the Roman Empire. But Jesus merely confirmed that he was labeled as such and instead he said that his kingdom was "not of this world." What modern dominionism has done is the opposite of what Jesus preached, which was freedom from tyranny and submission instead to the courage to view others as equally deserving of love and salvation and freedom and joy. Now they are basically telling everyone to bow to him and worship him just as the Jews and Romans would a God-King or Emperor as in Aten for no other reason than supposedly divine selection and bloodlines. Well that is not what Jesus is about; keep in mind that he is simply an appropriated figure that keeps people humble to authority while totally corrupted his civil disobedience and insistence that we care for each other regardless of outward appearance or foreign birth, as in the Good Samaritan. It is absurd to think that this is the only world and that only one perspective can possibly be true when we can literally see with our own eyes and ears the rest of existence as enhanced by the most sophisticated of mental generations built upon each other made tools in our hands and pockets.

All the human beings that have ever lived total 100 Billion. Imagine that many people populating the planet right now. Now imagine not only that many suns, some we are blind to with the naked eye, yet still exist in the infrared spectrum as radio galaxies, but now that same quantity of GALAXIES amounting in the hundreds of billions, each with their own Star Wars Opera.

Given that we exist, how could one planet with one people with one roman empire with one Jesus fellow with one absolute truth possibly be the only existence as we know it of life in a world where stars and gravity and cosmic dust change states from gas, to solid, to liquid, all around variable and repetitive (as evidenced by exoplanets and mass spectroscopy and all kinds of neat tricks and artificial intelligence and data science enhanced calculations that correct for error running at all times giving us verifiable data of the cosmos not only now but gazillions of years backwards, shifted in resolution, and now imagine the same level of scrutiny but on the nano level and beneath where the laws of physics fail to apply, and take everything you can study and manipulate it so that invisible energy beams and rare earth minor superconductivity keeps you connected to this light emitting screen of refreshing diodes in uncanny synchronicity with transistors and ultrafine electromagnetism made fap fodder for your thotgram shit. Get over the lame nonsense and get with the awesome mindgasm that is science and technology and use the arts and sciences to enhance what is possible through expression not as some kind of trophy but as a true boon to civilization and shared prosperity through collective experience and pride. Would you equip your army with the best equipment possible for all? Or would you simply deck out your castle with a few massive mechas and have nothing but squishy glass cannons? You have to think of strategy when you form society, and you can't just be an asshat and hog one resource and give it to one unit and expect to win. This is some shit and we are getting buggered badnewsbears because these bumfuckegypt assholes are taking out country by the hairpiece and running the show. Well, let's tell Dumbass Donald, "YOU'RE FIRED!!" and noose him by the neck with a shepherd's crook. What a bastard.

Good Evening Charles,
For some reason, after reading your post, I thought of a song, "Quark, Strangeness and Charm" by Hawkwind, a Welsh band from back in the day. Seems the planets, stars et al are "subatomic" compared the universe. Wow, is Earth small.

Fascinating piece on phosphorus and its star building quality. Though I'm not so sure "sun worship" is the most rational of religions.

@2: That sentence at the start of the third paragraph, beginning with "Given that we exist", is one of the longest written on Slog but still readable, and admittedly a creative train of prose.

I always associated Islam with the sun god.

Old Testament, scarcer resources, harsh punishment.

New Testament, Eurosavages, laxity of punishment.

Check out the weather in Mecca. Dead in the middle of their 80-90 degree winter.
