Yep, that's a disqualifier.

Bloomberg wouldn't even be a candidate if he didn't have hundreds of billions of dollars. It's beyond time we make knowledge the main requirement for being president and take money off the table. While we're at it, let's make it: there have been 43 white male presidents, one black male president, and one huge pile of shit president - so how about we need to make diversity a requirement, the ability to pass a citizenship test a requirement, release of medical records and taxes and criminal records requirements, and finally, let's set an age limit. How about we don't have 70 or 80 year old presidents FFS? How about upping the age from 35 to 40 and setting a cutoff limit of 65? I am so sick of old white men acting like they are the only ones who can run this country. Time for other people to do it. Time for billionaires to be disqualified due to inability to relate to the 99% in this country. I mean right now is the time to completely rewrite the rules so that anyone like the current incompetent, incoherent, white supremacist asshole in the WH would NEVER EVEN BE ABLE TO GET NEAR THE JOB, EVER. Time to rewrite the rules. Bloomberg shouldn't be in the race. Bernie should not have run (he is just another white man who believes he deserves to be president) and he is too fucking old with a heart attack under his belt before even getting the job). And Donald Trump, if the rest of our government had not decided to collaborate with him, should have been removed from office for treason, period. I am so sick of people going on and on and on about how we have no one who can beat him. Seriously? A pile of dog shit could do a better job. A rock would be a better president. But we're all going to talk about how everyone else running for president can't beat Donald Trump. The entire country is fucking insane and if we get 4 more years of Trump we deserve what we get. It is FUCKING INCOMPREHENSIBLE that he is not the easiest loser to beat in the history of the world.

Bloomy should Not be ON the stage; the 'democratic' National Committee let him buy his way onto it (think those Dems wanna get MONEY the Fuck outta politics?) (think again), it's their last, best, most Desperate Hope in their tenacious cling to the Corporate teats.

If Bernie wins, sayonara the Good Life.
Apparently. But what about the Rest of us,
you ask.

Good question.

"Mr. Sanders, 78, had entered the hospital on Tuesday night after experiencing chest pain at a campaign event, and doctors had inserted two stents in a blocked artery, a relatively common procedure." --NYT

Like Biden had done, 20 years ago.

I gotta concur, xina, olde White guys have had their shot and Most of 'em ain't worth Shite. But this Berie fella, he's the FIRST honest Politician I've seen since Carter; Bernie could be a Game Changer, especially if kids are mortified of trump -- not to mention Capitalism's desperate, mad rush into the Abyss -- people who haven't voted 'cause there's only shit to vote for Will Come OUT for Bernie -- if they're Motivated.

But first he's gotta get past the Incrementalists
and Centrists and Corporatists and Neo Libs first.

And then, there's trumpfy.
And the wholly-corps-owned Mass Media.

But and it's a BIG but, if he can do all that shit
he gonna -- he and his Movement's Gotta --
Motive the Fuck outta we the Peeps.

And whotf better to run Against?

And then, pass the damn Torch already.

@4 -- "But this Bernie fella, he's the FIRST honest Politician I've seen since Carter"

Meh. According to Politifact, Warren is more honest (https://www.politifact.com/personalities/elizabeth-warren/ versus https://www.politifact.com/personalities/bernie-sanders/). Suprisingly enough (at least to me) Klobuchar tells the truth most often. Biden and Buttigieg are often full of shit. Bloomberg is somewhat of an extremist -- he makes a lot of completely true statements, and lot of completely false ones, while Steyer is the opposite.

It may not matter. America is a very sexist country, so even when you are clearly the most accomplished, smartest person running (like Warren) it may not be enough.

I also think there is a tendency for people taking unusual positions to be considered honest. Reagan was considered honest, even though he was a sneaky, devious motherfucker. But by taking very right wing positions (for the time) he was considered honest. It is quite possible that Sanders is viewed in the same light, and that will help him in the general. I fear that he will set back the progressive movement though, because he is not an especially strong candidate (but better than Jesse Jackson or Kucinich). He is a very old Socialist Jew from Brooklyn -- not exactly an ideal person to push forward the message. If he loses, then people will get the idea that someone needs to be a moderate to win (in much the same way McGovern's loss has limited progressive candidates for a generation). I would rather have a former Sunday school teacher from Oklahoma, even she is a she.
