Good Evening Jasmyne,
Viewed "The Dreamers" when it was released. Aside from watching the stunning Eva Green, the film didn't do much for me. Especially, coming from Bertolucci. Seemed pretentious and the trio spoiled. Chatting about Mao, a super killer and pedophile doesn't thrill me. But it was set in the 60s and Paris. What can one say? Meh. On the hand, checkout, "Besieged" by Bertolucci made around the same time. It features Thandie Newton and is excellent.

Speaking of Newton, "Flirting" is a joy! Probably my favorite coming-of-age film in the English language. Seriously, I think it a masterpiece. Saw it when released in 92' and viewed it again on DVD. Wow, does it age well. It helps that it's a period piece. Newton is superb and gorgeous as is Nicole Kidman. This film is just a jewel. Watch for one of the greatest scenes of facial envy ever displayed. Highly recommended.

I liked Dreamers. Except I thought it was weird that their little three way love affair ended when the brother and sister asked Michael Pitt to shave his pubes. I mean, that's what you're going to end it on?
