JESUS I feel sorry for Jeanette Jameson! We're all screwed.
Thanks a fucking heap. Trumpty Dumpty, Dencey Pencey and fellow MAGA turds.

There is no public health system in this country. Ignore the people telling you not to stock up on supplies, because the truth is, you’re on your own.

I sympathize with this situation, but want to make a couple points:

Her PCP should have known better than to send her to the ER when she doesn’t meet CDC guidelines for being tested (direct contact with confirmed case or travel to China)
Since there’s no antiviral for Coronavirus, Tylenol isn’t an “FU”... it’s literally one of the best drugs you can take since fever is a hallmark symptom.

The ER should have handled it better, but it also underscores the massive problems our healthcare system has. All of you “I’m not gonna pay for someone else’s healthcare” conservatives ALREADY ARE. You pay when people with no insurance go to the ER, which happens every day. You pay it in higher premiums and deductibles. I’ll amend the old saying: if you’re not liberal at age 20, you have no heart... and if you’re not conservative at age 40, you still have a heart and a brain.

I am an ER doctor. Keep in mind this nurse practitioner has likely been working their butt off for days on end taking care of 100's of potential coronavirus patients. They (and all of us in medicine) are doing the best we can to take care of everyone. None of us, including this nurse practitioner, hesitate for a moment to take of the sick even it puts us and our families at risk. Jameson - you think that you are in close contact with high risk patients? Come try on this nurse practitioner's shoes for one day. You should call and thank that nurse practitioner for taking care of you and doing an excellent job. Testing for coronavirus is not currently performed in patients who do not need hospitalization. It may be soon, but it isn't now. Fortunately, given that you are likely young and healthy, you will most likely be ok. This outbreak is incredibly taxing on our front line healthcare workers and this kind of devaluation of care received is not what we need right not. Keep in mind that even during an epidemic like this, most of the patients we see and most of the ones that are very ill are not patients that might have coronavirus. People who are not very sick need to stay home as there is no particular treatment for coronavirus. We will always see every patient who comes the ER, no matter what. It may take some time, especially if there are 100's of people showing up at the same time, but we will always be there. If you are lucky enough to be seen and healthy enough to go home, you should be happy, because some others are not as lucky. Jameson, you are welcome of behalf all of us in medicine for the excellent care you received and we are glad you are ok. But if you get sicker, our doors are always open.

Or, “Entitled boomer doesn’t get what she wants and lazy journalist writes an article about her tantrum.” Did you even google what COVID-19 testing entails before you wrote this article?
