Are you familiar with the Indian philosopher and reluctant guru Jiddu Krishnamurti? He's a wise, wise man. A student asked him why people ideate violence if violence in its reality is awful. Krishnamurti replied that violent fantasy is a sort of drug that allows the user to escape from the pain in their reality. But that it escalates until it sometimes ends in actual violence. So we should resist the pull toward the escape of violent fantasy and learn to cope with out pain in the real world.

I think that might be the dynamic that gets you to articulating a desire for mass murder at Amazon. Something to think about anyway.

I know some of us would like to believe that the Stranger staff some how actively facilitates the bad behavior here, or even perpetrates it, but I don't think so. According to Frizzelle, since they have had to lay off so many people there really isn't anyone left specifically tasked to riding herd on our shenanigans on Slog. I know, because I asked him.

Spending time writing letters to friends. Real mail grounds me in the real world.

My TV reception went under the tree growing over it, and I didn’t sort it, so it’s music, dvds and books. Few books on the run, biographies of artists Sandy Calder, Cézanne and Lucian Freud. Their artistic drive is what fascinates me, because I don’t have it. Music.. i had the Kinks on this morning, owning up to not that with modern music. Since the TV went, which only was free to air, haven’t watched many movies. Get on the internet way too much.
