Thank you and bless you, Governor Jay Inslee, for your excellent leadership in these highly stressful times. Everyone stay healthy, safe, and sane. May common sense prevail.
Stop hoarding toilet paper and sanitizer!!

3

DO NOT GO and panic buy groceries they will be open during the entire two weeks and doing things like that stresses out the workers who then have to restock the whole store while exhausted.

DO NOT line up closer than 6 feet apart. ZERO EXCEPTIONS ON THAT ONE.

Yes, they can arrest and fine you for doing that.

4

@1 Doofus in Shoreline: Congratulations for blatantly representing ineptitude and stupidity. Donald Jackass Trump and its lackeys are laughing at you.

5

@3: Doofy can't help himself. He's already dying of MAGAvirus.

7

Poor David. He's never gotten over the fact that he can't afford a place in Seattle. I think this virus may have permanently addled his brain. You can be sure he'll be in my Novena at sometime in the future.

8

I was wondering about flying in and out of Seatac on a domestic flight. Does anyone know if that means no one can fly in or out?

9

@1 is parroting the common talking points coming out of the Right Wing media. It's what they're all using to argue for the cash grab that Moscow Mitch and l'il Donnie Trump are making. Expect to hear until November about how any effort to flatten the curve or stop the spread is really just an effort to kill the economy in order to win the election.

12

@10 Haha, you live in an alternative fantasy universe where the South won the Civil War and the Sun revolves around the 6000-year old Earth.

13

Keep up the good work, Gov Inslee. Keep healthy everyone!

14

@10: I mean, if we let the whole country get infected we could have 3 million people die, and that's if the death rate is actually under 1%, as opposed to 1.4% or higher. Coronavirus is far more infectious, far more deadly, and far less combatable.
And thanks to President Trump, we didn't get warned about it by the person we had embedded in the Chinese CDC equivalent because he cut that position. And thanks to President Trump, we didn't have a pandemic response team because he cut that program.
But go ahead and tell us more about how stupid everyone else is who is taking this seriously.

1

Dave, you should check this out:

16

Shorline Dave, 'our' wholly-Corporate-owned Mass Media is "Democrat"?
So you branched out into Humor. The plumbing's a little slow? Yeah, Pandemics'll do that...

Comcast (owns MSNBC) (u know, the real Liberal one) is 'Democrat'? You're stuck in 1984. Not the year, the damn book. But if you can be made to believe two puls two Does Equal five, I'd say you're trumpfy's kinda guy. MAGA.

Oh, and he's (hair Furor) Dying to get we the people back out, off our collective asses, out, and right the Fuck back to Work (Fake "prez" Despises sloth, especially in anyone else) so's we can get that ol' Stock Market back to Work -- even if we might hafta toss a fewTrillion$ Their Way.

17

@16
Whenever one of these chvmps throws out the line "liberal media", i like to point out Howard Zinn's (i think?) observation that every newspaper has a business section, but not one of them has a Labor section. They're usually too stupid and/or brainwashed to get it, but there's always hope...

Sending everyone back to work pretending we can get back to business as usual will make the pain last longer. People will continue to get sick, our health care system will not be able to manage it, and the financial destruction will continue, slowly and painfully and inevitably.

Donald Trump is beyond incompetent. He is deranged. Everything he has done regarding this situation has made it worse. Telling everyone to ignore health officials and forget about staying home and to get back out there (to get his stock market back up and make sure he can get back to his rallies of adoration will cause more harm, not less.

Only time will tell what happens. We will either follow the recommendations of health officials and our government will support its people financially (with NO $500 BILLION blank check to Trump/Munchkin/McConnell and we will come out the other side able to work, hopefully having learned that our society needs a major overhaul

OR

We will ignore the health officials, try to go back to business as usual, continue to get sick to the point that our health care system is totally and completely overwhelmed, limp along trying to regain secure economic footing, struggle and suffer for an untold amount of time, doing nothing (having learned nothing) to change what desperately needs to be changed to fix the serious problems we have in our society, and we will NEVER get back to the point we were at right before this happened.

19

At least David has stopped pretending he's a Democrat. There is no alternative to what Inslee is doing and we all have an obligation to accept that this is a pandemic.

20

@11: UH-oh! Did Doofy just sneeze on you, Sarge? Both of you should be quarantined.

21

@7 Do you know if government offices will get shut down? Because right now I'd think the Office of Housing would be of crucial importance with rent coming up soon for a lot of people who are not getting a salary.

@1 I'm surrised you haven't followed your GropenFührer's advice and taken chloroquine! Don't you trust Trump?

22

@20: Sargon is being sarcastic.

23

@21 -- It also makes One HELLOVA drain cleaner
so you can just Write it Off. Best of luck.

24

I went to Safeway today and they had blue tape every 6 feet to remind people. It works! The store was actually pretty empty anyway, but people were distancing themselves.

Most everything was in stock, including meat, bread, milk, rice, and beans. But TP and clorox wipes were still sold out.

25

@21 iseult: Doofy would guzzle Drano if Trumpty Dumpty told him to ('cuz it cleans ya out!).
@23 kristofarian: It's going to take a helluva lot more than just Rot-o-Rooter to get all the shit currently poisoning our dying country out of the White Trash House.

26

A tough but good call by Governor Inslee. Our choices are bleak or bleaker, and Inslee chose bleak. Again, good call. And two weeks is endurable. Then, hopefully, a deliberate, calibrated return to some kind of normalcy might begin. But saving lives comes first, second, and third. Yes, of course, we want a strong, vibrant economy--and we can hope a reasonable balance can be struck here. But some will no longer be with us. The brutal virus will have left a terrible legacy. No easy choice here--but Inslee chose well and deserves credit for it.

27

@1- so far (during the entire 2019-20 flu season) 86 flu deaths in Washington AND it is "decreasing. Unless, of course, you think that the WA DOH data is "fake."
See: www.doh.wa.gov › portals › documents › 420-100-fluupdate

Compare that to the current state total of 110 Covid19 deaths, the rate of which is accelerating.

You can choose to believe the semi-literate baboon in the White House over both state and federal medical and public health experts if you like. No idea on Earth WHY anyone would make that choice, but more power to you.

Just don't breathe on me when you start your minor little disease.

28

Let's see...
Gov. Inslee vs professional grifter - that's a tough choice!

29

Is the order legal? Or are there constitutional aspects of freedom of movement? I wonder what the ACLU will have to say.

30

Searched high and low for the actual text of the proclamation but could only find reporting on it.

Could someone please link to the actual order itself?

32

Everyone should've seen this coming after it happened in California and New York. I was out for my walk and noticed construction is continuing as normal though. Curious, is apartment construction somehow an essential business?

33

@31 thanks

@32 48 hour grace period to cease business activity.

@ no one in particular Zoom's stock graph must be tracking the CV graphs.

35

Specialty retail isn't essential either, but we are staying open because "hardware stores" and "home improvement" businesses are allowed to stay open. We're just needlessly forcing people to deal with the public and be around each other when we should all be at home.

36

@1 Go ride a Metro bus, and lick all the hand rails.
