Nicely glossed Ricardo. Dickinson is a total master of verse. Crazy talented wordsmither, definitely the American icon of know the rules so well she breaks them. I mean she rhymes side with beside, and it unquestionably works.
She's a philosopher too. I like how she trots you along with manageably concrete thoughts in her first stanzas, and then drops abstract complexity bombs in the last. As a reader I'm always like, okay I'm following this. And then blam, I'm rereading the last stanza three times. And then I go read the first stanzas again and understand the depth that I did not see in them.
