And it was done on purpose! All of the bigots and misogynists and idiots who were so outraged that a black man was a good president (oh wait was president at all) and then a woman wanted to be president ??? had to prove that they preferred the most incompetent, destructive, deranged, delusional piece of shit on the face of the earth be in charge (no matter what happened) as long as it has white skin and penis. They had to make sure everyone else understood that the the only thing that matters to the powers that be in this country is white skin and male genitalia and white supremacist ideology and terrorism.

Trump has delivered to an extreme no one ever expected and when he is finally gone, who knows how bad the damage will actually be.

2

Really, you should just call it incompetence and leave it at that.

3

Does it matter? We will have Trump for another four years if Biden is our nominee. It doesn't matter how incompetent Trump is...

4

My nomination for best headline of the year.

5

You'll get fired from your job as night manager at Denny's for showing up late for your shift enough times, white male or no. The level of incompetence displayed by Trump -- bankrupting business after business and always getting yet another chance; decades of fawning press coverage despite demonstrating no acumen for business and having nothing of interest to say; being elected to the highest office in the land despite a complete lack of qualifications, lack of ability, and glaring deficiencies of both character and intellect -- this degree of incompetence is only rewarded among the offspring of the very, very rich.

6

Baby donnie's just a symptom of the broken and corrupt society and world we have. It doesn't really matter much how incompetent any particular leader is to the wealthy and powerful who, in reality, control everything. As long as the middle class and poor are fighting with each other, thereby keeping their activities largely hidden, the wealthy and powerful don't really give a shit about what their installed leaders do.

7

You left out the Christian bit, if you talking about western countries. It’s not really a colour thing, look at all the other dictatorships run by men. Not all white.
All repressive fascist pig males, though. It’s in all our interests to smash the patriarchy. There’s Black male leaders in Africa doing a pretty good incompetent, read greedy, job.

8

It wasn’t just Trump who didn’t respond. China showed us all what this virus is about and we all ignored it. Was this a racist response from the West? Because other Asian countries were onto it straight away. Also, as with China, they have had pandemics before. They know the drill.
And we are still not listening. Close it all down. Not for months and months, and yes during that time the Capitalist countries have to practice the Socialist ways. In the US, people might then see what sense Bernie makes.

9

@7: Oh, please! Where were all the White women when Native and Black African women were being raped by White men over the centuries in the Americas? Pfft!!! Death to Misandrists!!!

10

Which makes Rachel Maddow's idea that the media should just stop looking at him at all, ever, even more imperative.

And i concur with kallipurgos about the headline.

11

@9 White women got Trump elected. White women believe their whiteness protects them, that they are included under the umbrella of white supremacist terrorism in this country, but they are not. They are the epitome of self-hatred and denial of the violence and destruction they themselves suffer under a system that only cares about wealthy white males.

It is just like poor white people constantly vilifying everyone just like them who are not white. Why do poor white people in Appalachia vote Republican? No matter what white men do to white women, they still support them in the belief that their whiteness matters more than their being female. It is a deep, disturbing sickness.

13

@12 YEP.

14

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Charles is my hero. Dan

15

@1 - doesnt even have to be white skin and a normal penis. Orange skin and a misshapen toadstool are close enough. He’s a half-melted white man. He’s the el cuco president.

16

8
How could our media possibly have been expected to inform society about a pandemic brewing in plain sight in China when they had an Impeachment to orchestrate?
Get your priorities straight, dearie.

17

Great analysis, Charles. Right on the money. Same to you, Xina.

18

19

If there's even a tiny shred of justice in the universe, we will all be treated to the site of the Buffoon in Chief in a hospital bed tangled up in tubes and sharing a respirator with the person in the bed next to him.

20

@16,

Literally the first sentence in Charles' piece answers your question, "dearie."

Don Doorknob was gifted the resources needed to address this thing at it's initial manifestation, but chose to kick the task force to the curb out of ignorance and spite. And you see where that's gotten us. Congratulations.

22

Yet another Milton Firedman’s text book crisis turned into a minuscule distracting bribe for the masses while further ratcheting the 1% rule.
All along enablers such as the idiot from Shoreline and the seemingly ā€œnice guyā€ yet another mean idiot raindrop are masturbating to Reagan who enabled it all.

24

@1 xina for the WIN. +1. Kudos for beating me to it.
@7 LavaGirl: It's what I've been saying all along. Agreed and seconded.
@11 xina: I am a white woman over 50 who voted for Hillary--and would again. Just for the record. But I think you and others already knew that.

26

Give yourself the reverence, you funny thoughtful boy. Ben Carson is nothing but an uncle Tom, the Clarence Thomas of this administration. There's no way he could do anything without his master's approval, and you putting the blame on him is a testimony for your pretentious ignorance.

29

@21,

You know as well as anyone that if this had taken place on Obama's watch we'd be seeing nooses hanging from trees all across America. Shit, we'd have nuts scaling the wall to burn crosses on the White House lawn.

31

It’s always the same formula with you, funny boy raindrop. Once getting caught in your web of lies and pretentious racist and misogynist attitudes you often brush them aside with a "labyrinth of prose, with caveats and nuances meant to calm the headline and provide an out."

ā€œThere's nobody to blame for this pandemic or for its incompetent responseā€ is a testimony to your mean ignorance.

32

I concur, totally, CM. I add to your final sentence: "and may be paid by the most vulnerable."

33

Charles slaps white people and a room full of white sloggers goes, ā€œslap us more sir!ā€

Comedy gold.

34

The fascinating thing is its obvious I have no problem with white male competence. None. But it is assumed to be a racist post by some because, yes, the truth hurts.

36

The people of this nation, and every nation, are in a pitiable state. Lied to, manipulated, controlled. By the wealthy and powerful elite. The wealthy have Joe six pack battling Jim six pack on a daily basis.

Your real enemies are the wealthy. Your enemies are not the poor and middle class. It doesn't matter who they "vote" for or which candidate they support. They're not idiots. They're not mindless republicans. That's all a fantasy. None of it matters. The "President" doesn't matter. Doesn't make laws. Doesn't control anything. Has no power or influence or authority. Government is installed and controlled by the wealthy elite and you have no power or control over it. The wealthy have you under their thumb and you don't even know it, or you don't care about it. The entire system is completely rotten at its core, and you're arguing over the color of the street signs.

37

No, you're wrong raindrop, and it's important to emphasize how you're wrong.
If Obama were President, we would have been out in front of the curve on this.
We would have made provision for hospitals to have critically needed supplies and staffing plans in place, plans for back-up facilities, some redundancy and resilience.
There would have been clear guidelines, uniform and transparent.
We would have co-ordinated much better both with our trading partners and our foes and world-wide the death toll would be much lower.
This is not mere speculation but based on plans which were in place and the systematic dismantling of those plans and the hostility of the current administration to multi-lateral co-operation.

39

Wanna fix white male incompetency? Put a WOMAN in the White House, for fuck's sake.
We're 231 years LONG OVERDUE.
@37 kallipugos: Agreed and seconded. Just imagine if Hillary Rodham Clinton, infinitely better qualified, and who won by almost three million popular votes in 2016 were in the White House and in charge today. There wouldn't be any global pandemics, Russian and Ukrainian hacking and interference with U.S. elections, deep recessions, trade wars, gutting of public safety nets and the EPA, and we'd actually have a SCOTUS that wasn't hellbent on keeping women barefoot, pregnant, and voiceless.

40

Charles is a reliable source of unintentional comedy.

42

@38
Oh boohoohoo. Crimea River, raindrop.

43

39
And don't forget,
your hemorrhoids would shrink and your farts would smell good,
if only Hil had won...
* sigh *
gosh, why don't you kids run her again.
pretty pretty please.
We promise we'll vote better this time.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.......

11
"Why do poor white people in Appalachia vote Republican? "
Why would they possibly want to vote Democrap?
So they could get the same deal poor black people in the urban shitholes get?
Why would poor white people in Appalachia vote Democrap?

54

i call this unfair because there are a loot of unspoken free passes flying in the opposite direction, racializing failure has been limited to being applied to just white males in the modern sacred-liberal highbrow discourse. When it comes to abject FAILURE in the american classroom, it's racialized, but in the way that it's those mean racist teachers or the system (never mind that the system is rampantly orthodox liberal.) And I get it, it had been so long unfairly applied to non-"whites." but right now, it's open season on a historically specific, hypocritical kind of racial shit talk. I used to engage in it too. but the brush has gotten broader and the hypocrisy more tenuous. saw an npr walker lady quarantine-yell at a couple bro's type whites and an E. Indian subcontinent descended person throwing a football at a nearby park (seattle), while going quiet when 10+ POC dudes rolled up to play a pretty large gathering of basketbal. whatever though, get paid write articles like this. all good. I just recognize it as a meme and a cottage industry, and the majority bully opinion being used to revenge-belittle white males for the sins of our fathers. sorry for the rant - just seems like there is so much politcally loaded, conclusion-first, reasoning later discourse lately, especially in this covid hostage situation where we are all in a state of unease. PEACE AND SANITY.

55

@50 -- worse still might be the blowback we recieve in reponse to Iraq. Afghanistan. Central and South America --you know, whereever the fuck we don't happen to Like the democratically-elected governments so we just overthrow them and or install our very own Pro Capitalism puppets.

Can you say American Epidemic (on Democracy)?

60

Trump has been criticized and attacked like no other president in modern history. Whether you think it's justified or not (before you answer, consider that most of you also believed the Russian collusion hoax, had faith in Michael Avenatti and were invested in the impeachment charade), to suggest that he has been "permitted" anything by virtue of being a white male and not afforded to him by virtue of winning the election is absurd. He wasn't even "permitted" to rightfully limit flights from China during the onset of the pandemic without being attacked as xenophobic.

62

@28 What "room" has Trump been given to fuck up? You can disagree with his policies, but to suggest that Trump has been given additional latitude to "fuck up" is absurd. He was threatened with impeachment before he was sworn into office. He was attacked as xenophobic for limiting flights from China at the onset of the pandemic. And the first 3 years of his presidency were spent defending himself against a debunked Russian collusion hoax. "Room"? You can't be serious.

63

@61 I don't accept your attempt to redefine the meaning of accountability in this context nor your omission of portions of my comment inconvenient to your narrative. "Criticized and attacked" absolutely falls within the parameters of "held accountable". Further, your childish personal insults are a poor substitute for fact-informed rational discourse. I defy you to disprove any statement in my previous comment.

66

@64 "Sluts", "dog shit"? You're unhinged and behaving inappropriately. Be an adult and be specific. Precisely what statement in my previous comment is false? The Russian Collusion investigation found that there was no collusion. The Senate dismissed impeachment. Michael Avenatti didn't take down Trump as many on the left hoped. Again, precisely what have you disproved? The feelings you've developed within your bubble do not change the results of federal investigations. The fact that those who oppose Trump have failed in their attempts to remove him does not mean that he has been "permitted" to do anything due to being a white male. It simply means, the attacks were found to be without merit after exhaustive investigations. If you intend to respond, you'll need to behave in a rational, decent manner.

67

@65 "whiteboyz"? Bigoted, race-based attacks don't have a place here. This should be a safe space where people can disagree without impugning others on the basis of immutable characteristics like race and gender. Hate and intolerance has no place here.

69

@34 - It made me sad to see you take this line of defense. Any of us who want to are totally allowed to hate, without apology, white male incompetence for what it is is: a message of supremacy aimed at all the non-white, non-males out there who dare to think we have a right to participate and contribute. F* the hypocrites who try to twist hate of hostility into racial animus. We have nothing against white people of principle. You white people want to get mad at anyone, get mad at Cheesy Poof in Chief for making a mockery of your formerly proud race with his clown show in orange face. He’s a parody of what you used to be.

78

@77 -- Bingo.

"... the belief that one is the sort of person who always sees the world exactly as it is increases the likelihood not just of being wrong, but of being wrong in the same ways and about the same things over and over.

In addition, because naĆÆve realists deny that they are looking at the world in a way that is from a particular perspective (let alone mediated) they see no need to learn to perspective-shift (in fact, they often believe they can see all perspectives from their position).

They not only universalize from their perspective (theirs is universal, and all others are particular) but universalize their needs and desires (when coupled with a strong faith in group entitivaty, this universalizes contributes both toward projection and the fallacy of false equivalence).

Finally, naĆÆve realism enhances faith in group entitativity (the belief that groups are discrete categories with essential differences) and negates any need to consider one’s beliefs in terms of falsifiability. In short, while adherents of naĆÆve realism believe that they have direct perception of the world, they are singularly prone to bigotry and authoritarianism."
