Thank you, Eli, and well done. Superb reporting as usual.

Happy social distancing, and everyone stay healthy, safe, and sane.

Current coronavirus social distancing practices will likely last into August or September, with a only a slow, gradual, here-and-there return to normalcy. And that might be optimistic. I fervently hope I'm wrong, and that ballparks, businesses, music venues, and all the rest could fully reopen sooner--but it's not looking that way just now. And, indeed, we should play it safe. A relapse would be disastrous. None of this is easy for anyone: many parents, students, teachers, nurses, doctors, small business owners, and cooped-up extroverts are understandably chafing. But... our alternatives are bleak or bleaker. I'd love it if circumstances were otherwise, but honesty mandates acknowledging how brutal this is. I suspect the first to reopen will be libraries, on a part-time basis, and gradually some businesses will return to normal hours, and it'll be a play-it-by-ear kind of scene. So, let's try to stay empathetic and helpful, despite understandable frustration and impatience.

The Trolling trolls'll soon be here
spreading their mendacious malignancies
ANY-thing for a second, LIFETIME term for Biggest Loser:

"'The virus is no worse than the common cold.'

This one was espoused by none other than Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Rush Limbaugh on his radio show.

'It looks like the coronavirus is being weaponized as yet another element to bring down Donald Trump,' Limbaugh said on February 24th.

'Now, I want to tell you the truth about the coronavirus … I’m dead right on this. The coronavirus is the common cold, folks.'

He went on to claim that the media was drumming up panic about COVID-19 purely to undermine the Trump administration: 'They are trying to use this coronavirus to scare the hell out of everybody in their madcap hopes of finding something that will get rid of Donald Trump. It’s exactly like the panic and fear mongering you heard for two years over Russia meddling in and stealing the election.'"

Why isn't he in Jail?
