Trump Pence ad nauseum for Prison, at the 1%'s expense.
TRUMPVID-19 kills, no matter what the MAGAs claim.

@2 GermanSausage: I knew to vote for Hillary, and would again in 2020.

4

@2 GermanSausage, one of the really scary signs of the devastating meltdown of facts, logic, and rationality is that unless you already know the person well, it's almost impossible to distinguish sarcasm from stupidity, no matter how batshit insane it is.

I predict Flynn will resume his position as White House national security advisor to the president. No confirmation required.

All hail the Orange Mob Boss!
We're now just as corrupt as any other country on earth! Where can I get my million dollars to donate to the GOP, so I can get an ambassadorship, and a guarantee that I'll never have to go to jail?
In other news - Yay! More bikes and fewer cars!

I don't want to count my chickens before they've hatched or prematurely spike the footbal and do an end zone dance. (And as long as I'm mixing those metaphors, just a reminder to "Take care of yo' chicken.") But, as much as this runs against the grain, something good may finally be happening, at least virtually on this blog.

It's been a day or two now since I've seen a comment from any hit-and-run trolls. Could it be that Slog has finally fixed the burner-account problem we've been complaining about—for me most recently here?

I'm sure that no sooner will I observe this than a 404 troll will rise from their crypt. Let's see what happens next.

@9 It's fixed, I tested it.

12

@11, looks like I'm going to have to make that supplemental contribution to this publication after all. Still gonna give it a few days though, as much as reason says there's no need to.

Is there some form of clock that runs on a decade, generational, or astrological scale? Because this is the first time I've ever agreed with a paid political ad that runs on Fox. It's not because of purely partisan obstructionism either: I was fed, clothed, and educated on a USPS mail carrier's salary, and I don't want the GOP to intentionally destroy this constitutionally-mandated societal good.

It's beautiful!

The news regarding Flynn is hardly surprising, given that Trump is a liar, thief, conman, gangster, and thoroughgoing hypocrite. He has little regard for institutions that protect a constitutional republic. He thinks he is a savior and genius deserving to be above the law and destined for eternal worship and glory. Vote Trump out in November. Put differences aside for long enough to unite and vote Trump out. It's that or risk a far, far worse second term.

Hey Chase: it's not extraordinary.

Back in 2009-10 and onward the Obama administration- with his front man Eric Holder, dropped prosecutions of nearly every bankster, fraudster, war criminal and torturer- nearly every corrupt public official (see, e.g. Ted Stevens) and all manner of corporate white collar crime guys and forgers (including the current Treasury Secretary). In essense, they were given the old Hasbro Monopoly 'get out of jail free' cards.

This created- as many of us noted at the time: the mother of all moral hazards.

There is merit in AG Barr's seeking dismissal of the Flynn case. Apparently there is evidence that overzealous FBI tactics engineered a perjury trap on General Flynn. Just because Flynn is an unsavory Trump supporter doesn't mean that lady Justice should not be blind in this case. Let's hope the judge dismisses the case today.

20

There is no 'merit' in trump's Personal Attorney cum usag bill barr. Remember, this is the guy who took the Mueller Report and condensed it into 4 pages of pro trump mendacity and pawned it off as Exoneration.

22

Oh, in that case, OJ had his honor restored, too. In fact, even more so since he has always insisted he was innocent.

23

Well, poo, I meant to address that last to @7.

@7
"Kids are extremely unlikely to die from coronavirus. Far less likely than dying in a car accident, but we don't prohibit children riding in cars."
If car crashes were infectious, the kids could potentially infect all their family and emergency res-ponders who attended the accident and more car crashes would then occur.

A school bus crash could spread take out the entire West Coast in about a week.

RE: KIDS and COVID-19.

Kids are vectors who spread the virus to others.
Some kids are getting seriously ill with COVID-19 and some are dying. How many dead kids will make it matter?

No one cared when the 5 year old girl died in Detroit (her parents an EMT and a firefighter).

Will anyone care about this boy?

How many dead kids = enough?

Cuomo says 5-year-old NYC boy died from coronavirus-linked ‘toxic shock,’ first such case in the state

The boy, who died Thursday at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, was one of 73 kids in New York who have developed Kawasaki-like symptoms after testing positive for COVID-19, the governor said at a press briefing in Poughkeepsie

https://www.nydailynews.com/coronavirus/ny-coronavirus-cuomo-boy-nyc-toxic-shock-20200508-jawpbtapx5h3bldjnhth2c6sui-story.html

I mean 75,000+ deaths don't matter. Killing old and sick people doesn't matter. Killing middle aged healthy people doesn't matter. Will it matter when the kids start dying en masse, too? Or is all death, no matter who it is, fully acceptable as long as the select few get to go out into the world and do what they please at the expense of everyone else? I mean if one million people die is that enough? Two million? Or do we have to get into double or triple digit deaths for it to matter? Because with everyone chomping at the bit and suing to get back to their lives and their restaurants and their hair salons and wherever else they deem so fucking important, deaths are going to increase. This country has NOT flattened the curve. The curve is still going up. What exactly do people think is going to happen when everyone runs out into the streets now that Dump and his minions are saying it's time to get back to business?

4-year-old boy dies in New Jersey

The U.S. coronavirus death toll has surpassed 76,000.

@19, "There is merit in AG Barr's seeking dismissal of the Flynn case. Apparently there is evidence that overzealous FBI tactics engineered a perjury trap on General Flynn."

"I like people who don't get caught" D.J.T.

I would hope that one needs to be at least a little smarter than a turnip to become a general. If a couple of FBI agents could trap him I wouldn't want to put him up against, say, Al-Qaeda.
