Dissolving police unions would be a good start. There's no reason they can't be incorporated into the general public employee unions.

There are a lot of white people talking about how "all of this violence" is unnecessary and not going to "get them anywhere." Them? White America invented the violence used against black bodies to keep them in line. The Civil Rights movement story told by White America is a fantasy of non-violence and cherry picked Martin Luther King Jr. quotes.

The truth is White America used vicious violence against black people during the Civil Rights movement, including fire hoses, dogs, lynchings, assassinations, beatings, and bombings (an incomplete and inadequate list, really, of all of the terrorism used in an attempt to prevent black people from obtaining any rights). And the violence seen during these protests in response to the murder of George Floydd, look closely and see who is perpetrating the violence.

See the cops in nearly every city in nearly every state, all wearing military gear like they are fighting a massive war, assaulting, punching, gassing, shooting, stomping, beating, running over, screaming at and arresting people protesting police brutality.

8 I agree 100%, but as long as the looters and thugs are armed and protected by the police union, there's not much that can be done to stop them from attacking the peaceful protesters, or "enemy combatants" as they like to call them.

In the last 15 months, the king county sheriff office has fired one officer, issued 3 three day suspensions, 5 one day suspensions and ZERO criminal charges based on the hundreds of complaints and internal investigations during that one year there month period.

Other than the officer who was fired for bribing CIs, the largest law enforcement agency in the state (I think, there are no aggregate law enforcement stats kept by the state or federal government), ISSUED A TOTAL OF 14 SUSPENSION. DAYS IN THE LAST 15 MONTHS...THATS LESS THAN ONE SUSPENSION DAY PER MONTH FOR ALL PEOPLE IN THE DEPARTMENT.

One officer took the wrong person to jail and didn't even receive a verbal reprimand.

The police aren't just not accountable for violence. They're barely accountable for anything
