Black Lives Matter Seattle Calls for a Statewide Silent March Friday

It's at least something that a dialogue is happening, but until actions are taken, words mean nothing. It will be interesting what Mayor Durkan is able to deliver.

Let's have a White People Organize This Time march, so we can, as a culture, stop using police as a Caucasian cleanup committee. Every cop who's "here to crack skulls" is encouraged by thousands of people expecting to use 911 as their personal get-off-my-street hotline to eradicate undesirables from white neighborhoods.

Acquiescing to arbitrary budget demands is no way to run a government.

As a part of a group that has fought against the vicious police sweeps against the most vulnerable people, the unhoused, we are fully aware of the crypto fascist mayor’s terrorism against the poorest of the poor.

We must watch what she and her administration does closely and keep on it. She has a vindictive track record as a federal attorney of incarcerating many including activists with questionable evidence. She is not to be trusted. She must resign.

“Historically, pandemics have forced humans to break with the past and imagine their world anew. This is no different. It is a portal, a gateway between one world and the next. We can choose to walk through it dragging the carcasses of our prejudice and hatred, our avarice, our data banks and dead ideas, our dead rivers and smoky skies behind us. Or we can walk through lightly, with little luggage, ready to imagine another world. And ready to fight for it.”
