I actually prefer Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear and their Captain Marvel combined books, or some of the local Indie comics about half way down the aisle in that picture.
For a complete comic book beginner I would recommend Batman, starting with Batman no.1 (2011). The collected edition is called Batman: The Court Of The Owls.
Comics can be a tough read initially for newbies and I personally wouldn’t recommend a wanky indie comic as a good starting point.
