I just voted the first straight Democrat ticket ever, even for Secretary of State. Nonetheless, if I lived in Seattle, I would vote for a straight Republican ticket for all city offices, especially Mayor and City Attorney.

Let us pause and savor the fate of this GOPnazi fuckface. May every last Tr666p-humping Despicable enjoy the same comeuppance.
(deep breath) BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!:

Former Rep. Duncan Hunter to serve sentence at West Texas prison camp

SAN DIEGO — Former Rep. Duncan Hunter will serve his 11-month sentence for conspiring to misuse campaign funds at a West Texas prison camp, his attorney said Friday.
Hunter is due to report to Federal Correctional Institution La Tuna on Jan. 4. The prison is in the El Paso suburb of Anthony, on the Texas-New Mexico state line. He will serve in its adjacent minimum-security satellite camp, according to CQ Roll Call.
Hunter’s attorney, Devin Burstein, on Friday confirmed the report that Hunter had been assigned to the facility.
Hunter fought a 60-count indictment for more than a year before pleading guilty to a conspiracy charge in December.

Mute Trump from now until he is forcibly removed from the White House (and after that, too). He will do nothing but attack other people and scream and whine and cry and lie so much more than he ever has. He absolutely cannot handle the fact that he is going to lose and he is going to go to prison (unless he makes it to Russia first). The sweetest irony would be Vlad giving him the same treatment he gives all of his enemies, because once Trump is no longer squatting in the White House, Trump will be of no use to him. Trump is too racist to run to any other country in this world that will have him. SAD.

My vote is for Trump going to the Pribilof Islands!

The people who are actively prolonging the pandemic are tired of the pandemic. What a world.

7

@2 Most of the city offices are nonpartisan. Though you can usually tell who's on the conservative side vs. the liberal side. Or, this being Seattle, the liberal side from the socialist side.

8

I think if there was an effective republican party in Seattle, Durkan would be one. But nobody with serious political ambition would join that ramshackle mess

9

@8- nah, be realistic. She has lived most of her adult life as an out gay woman with a noblesse oblige pedigree.
Even in the modern reformed Republican Party that would be just too much cognitive dissonance.
We have to accept we are the big-tent party and some of us are a little more authoritarian, some of us want to live behind gates and walls, some of us want to own and use firearms. some of us want to become filthy stinking rich ... maybe all character flaws but one can have character flaws and still hold strong core values.

10

So who's been tagging Durkan's estate with homophobic slurs? The left or the right?

11

Masturbating on a Zoom call should henceforth be called “toobin’”.

12

@10. Homophobes?

Again, some reading worth your while:

https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/hidden-plain-sight-racism-white-supremacy-and-far-right-militancy-law

13

@12: Of course, but it's mainly left groups who has been harassing and vandalizing our mayor's estate. Typically, this is not the MO of Proud Boys and other white supremacists groups. It could also be some provocateurs trying to frame other groups.

14

@13. The Proud Boys may be a (dubious) exception, but most far right groups hate LBGTQ, and historical and contemporary far right groups (Poland, Russia, Phillipines, etc.) reliably target, persecute, and exterminate other sexualities than cis het. In fact, a lot of far right groups criticize the Proud Boys for that, especially in the South, and they largely outnumber them.

Besides, given that leftist have spearheaded the fights for equality under the law and obviously support LBGTQ and fight for their rights, are you going to subscribe to binary thinking and horse blinders by attributing a random hateful tag to "the left," or are you going to think critically about who stands to lose the most under appointees like ACB who will dismantle those gains? Because dominionist right-wing Christians aint the most friendly towards them. And are you implying the MO of the protestors is homophobia? Seems a bit warped and skewed, but I guess you create your own reality these days.

15

Probably best at this point to relegate the Olympics back to the 8th Century BC..

16

Swiftress dear, the GOP has ceded Seattle, and has done so for decades. They have no one of quality to put forward, as you can see by what they are running for state office.

Until the GOP puts the bible down, and starts acting like a normal political party and not a death cult with a baby fetish, they don't have a chance.

17

@14: All I'm saying it's suspicious. The groups who have been harassing Durkan are primarily the same protesters against the cops and who rioted on Capitol Hill and downtown. If they wanted to upset her even more, then it's easy for them to embellish their hatred with randomizing homophobic slurs.

18

@16 I agree. It's a pity because Republicans used to be reasonable people with whom you could cut a deal and expect progress. In Seattle, the Democrats are just arranging the deck chairs while the ship sinks slowly into the muck.

19

@12, @14: Socialist Alternative led a mob to Durkan's private residence, where they scrawled graffiti on it. CM Sawant participated in the event. Socialist Alternative and CM Sawant are not "leftist?" Please do go tell them that, and convey to us their response. Please hurry, popcorn is cooking!

20

@16 The GOP didn't even bother to run someone for Insurance Commissioner. The mentally ill person who claimed the GOP flag in that race submitted what may be the wackiest statement I've ever seen in a voter's guide. The guy clearly hasn't a single non-invisible friend, or else they would have stopped him. It's like Sheldon Cooper became a street preacher.

21

@2 If you lived in Seattle, you'd know that the mayor, city attorney, and city council aren't on the ballot this year.

24

@2: Seattle City elected offices are officially non-partisan. As for state and federal districts within Seattle, I can't recall a Republican running for any of them since the 1990s.

@23: Try not to be too hard on xina, dear. Her intricate medication schedule would be difficult to follow even under the best of circumstances.
