Normally, an important function of a political party is to keep cranks, charlatans and crooks away from public office. That the GOP can no longer accomplish this simple task is stark evidence of its advanced state of degeneracy.
@4: I used to have that view, but taxpayers and good education requires quality assurance of charter schools to maintain an acceptable curriculum. The administration of that QA combined with some (not all) charter schools being actually harmful to the child makes it at odds with being an efficient use of public expenditures. In addition, it's too much of a drain on the essential needs for our public schools.
