"The hope among progressives was that Biden would pick Elizabeth Warren"

but instead they picked someone who is enthusiastically supported by Warren, but much easier to appoint. Good job, Joe. This is how you do it. Don't waste political energy picking a lightning rod for the other side. Just slowly, quietly, accomplish the same thing.

@1 LOL you don’t know Mitch!

First order of business is to get Old Hickory off the $20 bill. Legacy enough right there.

No Democratic Senator will be brought onto the Cabinet right now, unless that person's seat can guaranteed be filled by another Democrat. That is why Senator Elizabeth Warren will remain in the Senate, at least for now.

That is also why I opposed her (and not just her) running for President: because we need her in the Senate. Just look at all the votes missed by Democratic Senators while campaigning for the Democratic Presidential nomination.

At least we know that VP-Elect Kamala Harris will be replaced by a Democrat.

President-Elect Biden talks about bringing a Republican into the Cabinet. I think it's wasted virtue signaling, unless there is someone who is just that good a fit for the position. But it would be fun if that person were a Republican Senator from a state where a Democratic Governor were to choose the replacement. No, it won't happen.

Dean Baker, Charles.

Though that might have been a bridge too far. For now.

Obviously we need Harriet Tubman, with a hatchet, on the $20 bill pronto.

@9: You're projecting.
