The format of the "no new abnormal" sticker looks very much like a bunch of similarly themed stickers in Ballard suggesting Covid is a hoax, we don't need another lockdown, and other bullshit.

3

Thinking that "All this shit is fucking stupid" is profound is stupid.

4

It's still around: https://www.plantamnesty.org/ , even if Cass Turnbull has passed.

No, Biden's not a billionaire ... not anywhere remotely close.

Neither is Obama, or GW Bush, or both Clintons combined, or Jimmy Carter. Neither was GHW Bush, or Reagan, or Ford,or Nixon, or any of 'em.

Not even Trump, probably, when the forensic accountants get done with his smoke-and-mirrors facade.

Fred Trump was a billionaire. Koch brothers are billionaires. Peter Thiel is a billionaire. A lot of people - too many people - are billionaires. Most of 'em you've never heard of, and most of those got there by doing things you never heard of. Some are trying their best to do some good, some are trying their best to screw you over, and some aren't in the game at all.

Yeah, Biden's not a billionaire.

A billion is a hell of a lot. Nobody should have a billion dollars. Not while there are homeless people.

The only billionaire politician I can think of off the top of my head is Michael Bloomberg. There's probably others I'm forgetting. Or maybe not. Like I said, a billion's a lot. Most people really cannot fathom how large it is.

In fact, if you want to see a good representation of how much larger a billion is vs a million, check out this video:

A billion is like walking from the grocery store entrance to your car in the parking lot. A billion is like driving across the entire fucking country.

7

@myself @6,

Goddammit. Last sentence should be:

"A MILLION is like walking from the grocery store entrance to your car in the parking lot. A BILLION is like driving across the entire fucking country."

Perot was a billionaire.

There have been billionaire-infested cabinets, with regrettable results.

Of course you've heard about the entrepreneur who launched a business buying place settings for $12 each and selling them for $2 each, and a year later he was a millionaire, right?

9

@5: "Some are trying their best to do some good, some are trying their best to screw you over, and some aren't in the game at all."

I think that these are human conditions, irrespective of being filthy rich or dirt poor.

10

@8,

Oh yeah, I did forget about Perot. Though was he ever elected to anything?

And then of course there's some governors who are/were billionaires. Or at least one I know, Mark Dayton of Minnesota.

And Betsy DeVos is rich, though I'm not sure if she's in the billionaire category. I could probably just google this all...

And Nelson Rockefeller was definitely wealthy. Actually, he may even have been a billionaire way back before there were multiple billionaires... I think he was the richest guy on the planet during his time.

Anyway... there's too much fucking corrupt money in politics. That much I know beyond doubt.

I do not know the reference you're talking about, about the $12 - $2 thing.

11

As an Iranian friend of mine gave the punchline: "When he start, he eez BEELLionaire!"

DeVos eez beellionaire, yes. Nelson Rockefeller would have been just barely a billionaire, adjusting to today's dollars. JD Rockefeller was a billionaire even in 1916 dollars, and worth around 400B in today's dollars.

@9,

I think I agree. And this illustrates just how socially devastating a capitalistic culture that affords certain individuals the opportunity to attain obscene amounts of wealth, and use said wealth to exploit and subjugate others to their advantage truly is.
