Governor of Louisiana is a Democrat, isn't he? In this case he should do what Republicans would do--appoint someone of his own party.

No one should drive three hours for a decent burger (which, IMHO In-N-Out most definitely are not) when there are plenty of far superior offerings right in our own back yard. The only thing that sets them even slightly above most other mediocre major chain fast food burgers is the condiments. That said, putting Thousand Island dressing on anything, including a salad, is just sacrilegious.

From the dead guy:
"So while weā€™ve been cautious and I think both the state and federal level have taken numerous precautions for COVID-19. Weā€™re now at a place if we do not open our economy weā€™re in real danger.ā€

@4 service separates in-n-out from the other chains, kinda like Dicks. And kinda like dicks the service is better because the pay is better.

Gallup announced yesterday that Prezinazi AntiChrist--a six-time bankrupt business failure, pathological liar, third-rate con artist, unrepentant extortionist, lifelong sexual predator, a rapist, a soulless psychopathic moron, a would-be dicktator currently attempting a coup dā€™Ć©tat against this country and a depraved mass murderer--is the Most Admired Man in America.

Charles Manson would've won except for his deadness.

I refuse to link to it.

OK, my anger translator was able to decipher enough of the comment @7 to unearth this: "Gallup Poll: President Trump And Michelle Obama Most Admired Man And Woman In America."

https://www.npr.org/2020/12/29/951186528/gallup-poll-president-trump-and-michelle-obama-most-admired-man-and-woman-in-ame

Gee, what a lovely couple.

9

@7- man is that acutely painful.
I still have a deep, abiding affection for my country as an abstraction, an ideal. And I am fiercely loyal to American-ness as a creed, but ....-
damn how I detest what so many modern Americans seem to have become - an ignorant, vacuous, immoral people.

10

@9 -- they're simply following wholly-Corps-owned mass media; live and die for Corporate America and you too may (happen to) WIN a Darwin Award or trumpf's cherished metal of freedum or please, they just wanna Harvest the Citizenry it's just what they DO. bestly.

Shareholder profiteering trumps Human Beings.

is our Economy
made for WE, the People
or made solely for Soulless Corps?

& whilst it's Already been Decided!
we DO have the Option of
Revisiting our Mistakes.

11

Kallipugos, Americans have always been ignorant, vacuous and immoral. The extent has been underground the last several decades. Between the rise of the cult of Trump and social media there is no shortage of people willing to post their thoughts.

12

@9

I'm having similar feelings. But don't totally despair. The most important "poll" -- the election results-- show that he is not the most admired man among voters. There is still some shred of hope.

13

@7: You need to subtract x% of the responders to said poll, who spitefully voted for Trump, just in order to "own the libs".

Also: Nashville Bomberā€™s Girlfriend Reported He Was
Making Bombs Over One Year Before Christmas Day Blast

In Tennessee, police records show both local and federal authorities were aware that Anthony Quinn Warner, Nashvilleā€™s Christmas Day bomber, was a possible threat for over a year.

In August of last year, Warnerā€™s girlfriend warned Nashville police he was building bombs. The explosion last Friday injured three people, destroyed dozens of buildings and killed Warner.

Is anyone checking to see if the president changed his Twitter password to any of the hashtags or topics heā€™s been tweeting about lately? Probably about a 50/50 chance itā€™s either still MAGA2020 or the combination to Mel Brooks luggage.

16

I totally disagree that the Yo Gabba Gabba headline is for millennials only. I very much enjoyed watching it with my then young daughter. Not only did they have great musical guests, but they also had Markā€™s Magic Pictures with Mark Mothersbaugh of DEVO and Bizā€™s Beat of the Day with Biz Markie. I don't know who at Nickelodeon was in charge at the time, but they also had the Backyardigans, with music and songs by Evan Lurie, one of the founders of The Lounge Lizards and of course the Mothersbaugh again providing the soundtrack to the Rugrats.

In and Out is limited to its infrastructure. They grind all their own beef and never freeze it. To have an In and Out Burger, they need to source local beef, set up a hub location to grind and package the beef, then drive it every morning to each In and Out Burger. They keep the entire process internal for quality control reasons. Each location needs to be within a days drive of their hub.

@2, unless I'm mistaken, unscheduled vacancies in the US House are all filled by special elections. It's Senate vacancies that are filled subject to state law.

@18: Mayo on caviar? In Paris? And you're still living?

I suggest caviar on top of a dollop of creme fresh on a pop chip, garnished with a few sprigs of chives.

21

@19

Oh, darn. Oh well, thanks.

White Castle and Whataburger have that same type of supply chain. In and Out is like Dicks with a limited menu too. But they will customize and have a ā€œsecretā€ menu. How In and Out do the remote supply chain here and in Arizona is have a local depot. The Vegas one is next to the restaurant at Trop and the 15. Big trucks come in all week and a couple of smaller ones feed the local stores. My guess would be a regional depot in PDX somewhere eventually branching into the Seattle metro area. Iā€™d bet the stores will be mostly in the burbs and exurbs.

okay, so My Stimmy's
comin' in on the 6th.
