In many of those 3006 counties Amazon has zero infrastructure.
Amazon relies on the USPS which is constitutionally requires to service all of them.

Why all the hate?
Maybe that their warehouse workers have died in unheated in air conditioned warehouses. Those warehouses don't have robots. Amazon heats and cools the ones with robots. Amazon has fired multiple workers for union organizing (what has Amazon to fear if the workers have it so good?) Those billions were made by underpaying those workers.
Yes they've built some tremendously useful 21st centrury infrastructure. But they've run it with the social structure of the pyramids.

They pay the amount of taxes required of them by the government, nothing more, nothing less. I think the real question here is if their taxes were raised would that money be put to better use by the government improving peoples lives versus letting Amazon invest it back into the business to create new jobs. If we are talking about local government I think the answer to that is pretty obvious.

Perhaps, if The Stranger ever tolerated even the slightest hint of criticism of our local political leadership, folks at The Stranger could see how absurd it is that Amazon even NEEDS to offer help. What’s been weirding me out about the Amazon arrangement is the vast amount of public relations pieces that got cranked out across the world about it, like it’s real news or something Amazon is doing all day every day. Like the one day, one location (today, in Bezos’ Balls) clinic and the hype and backpatting for it seems a little much to me.
