Excellent - tens of millions of dollars for diversity bureaucrats, bumbling through a "participatory" budget based on who can best signal their college credentials by reciting the most opaque, nearly undefinable Newspeak like "centering Black-lived experiences". Another win for Seattle.

I guess it's slightly less sketchy than how those stadiums got built.

Good lord, what do we elect the City Council for if not to make budget decisions on behalf of the community? Now we're going to have this totally unelected, top-heavy, bureaucratic nightmare filled with "community" members (read: screaming activists) doling out our tax dollars to their most favored comrades with absolutely zero accountability or need to have any actual accomplishments, all in the name of "equity."

Glad to see every dollar will be thoroughly wasted, three times over. Meanwhile, schools, streets, playgrounds, and other city-owned infrastructure in the CD will continue to lag the rest of the city. (How much daycare for children of working-class parents could we subsidize or buy for this amount?)

Better yet, the jokes just write themselves:

"...formerly incarcerated people at the helm..."

Tell our City Council KCEN's proposed accountant did time for fraud, and they'll first blink blankly, and then pony up more of our tax dollars.

@1 It isn't undefinable, you're just too stupid to understand it.

Kind of mean. Sorry for having a different opinion.
