Big corporations have enough money to hire the biggest lobbyists and make the biggest campaign contributions, to get laws written the way they want.
The end result is we have to pay bribes to those big corporations or else they'll wreck our environment. Pollute our neighborhoods.
What it means, when capitalism combines with "democracy".
The rich guys just buy votes.
When the ancient Greeks invented democracy, it was 10 centuries before capitalism was invented.
