@1:

Yeah, and why are migrant farm workers always going on strike? I mean, you hardly see any white people among them except for supervisors and bosses, amiright?

"Before demanding Swenson's resignation, Narayan said WOCA had been working with the Hugo House board in good faith to create a community-led process to hire a diversity consultant and to offer a fair compensation package for that work."

For all the pious posturing, it's really all about the money. Now that threats have worked, they'll keep threatening until they get to break open that piggy bank the departing director amassed. How many full-time, generously-paid members (lower-tier WOCA members, and screaming, self-appointed 'community activists') does a search committee need to hire for one position? We may yet discover the bloated answer to that unwanted question.

Well, Hugo House was fun while it lasted.

Result! Keep the pressure on, WOCA.

@4: "But there are many qualified participants in a search process who represent the community but are not signers on the WOCA letters."

Please let us know the brand, type, and quantity of the cannabis product(s) required to allow such a sentence to form, let alone make it to the virtual page.

@6: First, the featherbedding in the selection process would make the most Mafia-controlled union blush. Then, after maybe a token (ha!) effort to include the qualified candidates @4 fantasizes about, the rampant cronyism begins. (If you believe there will be just one new position for WOCA, then you get to answer the same question @4 should.) Then, "fixing" the problems WOCA has itself created begins...

Compared to what Hugo House has coming, Davey Scatino got off easy.
