Good report Matt.

Sounds like the LEA's are concerned that a truly independent oversight process might take away their ability to cover for their brethren when they fuck up. But, this would just be "sauce for the goose, sauce for the gander", as the saying goes. Or, as the law-and-order types are so fond of saying: "if you're innocent of wrongdoing, then you should have nothing to hide".

Manuel Ellis's death proves that you cant trust one police department to fairly, transparently and accurately without bias investigate another. They all see each other as allies to be protected against the black, red and brown "anti-western" subhuman horde.

If I was accused of killing someone and the family of the victim was told my friends at my office would be handling my investigation, everyone would be horrified.

Yet somehow when the police propose the same thing it's supposed to be credible.

The blue double standard runs deep.

Thank you for another well-reported article, Matt. Deborah Jacobs nailed it.
Additionally, police forces nationwide need to cut ties with the NRA, along with enforcing de-escalation policies and training. Why the fuck does ANY police officer "need" full riot gear and a loaded AR-15 military assault rifle to protect and serve?
