It's about f'in time. Thirty one states have already opened eligibility for anyone over the age of 16. There are currently no supply issues and while Inslee was navel gazing people were getting sick and dying. Meanwhile he gave us bs responses about double lung transplant people who needed to get vaccinated. Even CA, the most restrictive state in the union was out in front of WA. We should have opened up appts, kept some doses in reserve for truly needy cases and then used everything we have and bitched for more from the red states who don't want to get vaccinated. Hoarding something while people are dying is bullshit.

Inslee just waits to see how the breeze is blowing and then goes when he is either forced to by Biden or it becomes so apparent what a doofus he is he has no choice. It's sad when the best that can be said about him is he is not a serial harasser like Cuomo or a virtual signaling hypocrite like Newsome. Oh what i would give for a no nonsense, administrator like Gary Locke right now or even Christine Gregoire. The funny part is if a Locke type candidate ran today Original Andrew would be on here blasting him as part of the Republinazzi conspiracy or whatever he is going off about today. Good times.

Reading the comments @1 @3 @4 @9, all I can say is, it's remarkable how the wisest policy experts in the state of Washington just happen to be posting away on Slog.

It's just a shame Tim Eyman can't manage campaigns anymore, or he could organize a recall campaign against Jay Inslee. Who knows? Maybe around 50% of the population is convinced they're smarter than the governor. I'm sure that same 50% of the population will indeed be the smarter half of the population.

"Eligibility" is meaningless, as long as there is no vaccine in the "supply chain".

From the time I became "eligible", it's been 3 whole months without an appointment. All the clinics and medical offices all say "we don't have any vaccine, and we don't know when we're going to get any".

Any tips on using the state vaccination scheduling site https://vaccinelocator.doh.wa.gov/ ? there’s a lot of provider information in there that appears to be outdated or not correct. Like yesterday when I searched for my downtown zipcode the site displayed dozens of pharmacies or county sites that have vaccine & appointments available within a 50 mile range. When I tried to schedule with each of the providers recommended by the state site, they were booked up into perpetuity or put me on waitlists.

Would I have better luck finding a shot outside of King County?

Would I have an even better shot at a shot by not using that site and doing some good old fashioned phone calling to pharmacies?

A smattering of data with source from whence it came:
I read a week ago in CNN that Mississippi is 1/6 of the states that expanded shots to all 16+, and at least 30 more plan to do the same by end of April.

From Dr. Jeff Duchin, King County public health officer, in his weekly COVID-19 briefing last Friday: 430,000 King County residents will be newly eligible with the new tiers opened. Add them to people who prequalify but need their 1st shot, & the county figures 1.2 mill residents will need appointments. This week's first deliveries were expected to be in the range of 50,000 shots.

"That would mean we could get one first dose for every eligible 10 residents who have not started vaccination. We're asking everyone's patience and understanding. We're working to get the doses out to the community just as quickly as we can get them from the federal supplies.“ -Duchin
