"The ugliness of Bremerton"...ugh. Charles, may I suggest that next time you visit the Olympic Peninsula, that you take the Kingston/Edmonds ferry? Then, you wouldn't be forced to gaze upon our humble working-class community. On behalf of myself and my fellow Bremertonians, please accept my sincere apologies for the visual unpleasantness you experienced here.

As a side note, should you choose to come back and "slum it" with the proles on the other side of the water, I invite you to spend some time in our downtown, the community of Manette, and/or one of our many waterfront parks. Compare and contrast with the current state of downtown Seattle.
