I'm totally in favor of pushing elected leaders to do the stuff you want them to do. I'm glad a democrat is president, and democrats hold the majority in the house and have their neutered "majority" in the senate. But Biden was far from my ideal choice for president and I want him to be way more progressive and I want congress to be more progressive and so I'm in favor of pushing for that, I'm in favor of protesters reminding him that even though they voted for him, he needs to do better, because I agree with that.

That said...

When protesters just robotically and mindlessly keep chanting their slogans over and over and over, even after being recognized, keep yelling the same 3 or 4 words again and again, just to hear their own impotent raging shrieks. Well, now you've stopped being helpful.

He heard you. He acknowledged you. He supported you. Your message was received. It made it onto the national media. Now shut the fuck up.

No Slog alignment presented here on the lawsuit just aimed at the city regarding a CHOP death? (possibly the first of several) Seriously was interested in seeing how one might defend both the family seeking compensation and the CHOP itself. Yes yes... it'll be: "It's all the mayor's fault!" - but there ought to be more to it than that, surely? https://www.kiro7.com/news/local/city-seattle-sued-chop-death/THF754FZX5C6TJ73XMWZMV2THE/

I'm glad Inslee is doing something to keep the mangy unvaccinated hordes away from the rest of us.

Agree with @4 - we need a tamper-proof ID (actually, if we put a "5G chip scanner" at the entrance to events, it would probably fool the Q-Anon crowd into not even trying to come in).

11

At last, I have found something to agree with Joe Rogan on.

12

Any action that acknowledges risk makes you a fucking coward. Wearing a mask? Sheep. Staying at home? Scaredy cat. Vaccine? Pussy.

From now on, any republican not BASE jumping while chewing broken glass is an effete commie who has already let fear win. They should just blow their brains out, because theyre so fucking pathetic.

@10 -- oh you know I did not know Not

Jeff Bezos says 94% of Amazon workers would recommend their job to a friend. Amazon workers say that stat is unreliable.

It’s difficult to get honest feedback from workers who fear retaliation.

With $106.8 billion Jeff Bezos sure as my morning dump doesn't need any of my money. Thanks for the heads up, Chase.

@4 Sir Toby II and @10 dvs99: Agreed, seconded, thirded, and well done! :)

@6 & @15 your_head_is_stopped-up: You might want to check the chemical content of your breakfast cereal before wildly spewing. High fructose corn syrup is a silent killer.

@16 xina: Agreed and seconded, and thanks for the link. :)

18

@17 Correction: Oops! Make that: "Thanks for the heads up, Chase Burns and Wm Steven Humphrey".

19

Always nice to hear the voice of reason from Professor_Hysterectomy.

21

@20 He is the Mo Rocca of "comedy."

22

@20: Anti-vaxxer? Link please.

23

@20

Bill Maher sucks.

He constantly tells racist, sexist, ageist and homophobic jokes; and on top of that he is a huge islamophobe.
He is the modern alternative to Archie Bunker.
The funniest part is that he somehow considers himself to be a "liberal", even though he is an elitist multi-millionaire that thinks that "cancel culture" is a bigger problem than systemic racism.
Pretty soon he's going to be telling us all that he hasn't changed, we've changed, just like Rosanne did.

He is garbage and so is his pathetic excuse for a show.

@22

Here is one of many.

Bill Maher sucks.

@22

And another from a source you may trust:

26

That was the discussion on autism and vaccines. Yeah, bad for Bill to do that.

He's not advocating not getting covid-19.

He's an entertainer who pushes boundaries and occasionally goes too far. Nothing wrong with that.

I always enjoy it when Dan is one of the guests.

@30: A few things I take issue with, but otherwise awesome.

34

If the Pink Elephant sign is a head on a pike, then I can only imagine how frustrated The Stranger must have been to lose on the bidding for it, so they could have this trophy of the death of car culture outside their own office.

35

Oh, right, the article says that the owner, Haney, gifted it directly to Amazon. I guess he must be familiar with how The Stranger has been (indirectly) cheering for the death of his business for the last decade or two, and decided to offer it to someone else a little friendlier.

36

Rogan is a self admitted self-effacing moron. When was the last last time anyone at the Stranger sat down for a three hour interview with Neil deGrasse Tyson.

37

Our dear Professor must have had a falling-out with Mr Rogan as it was only months ago they were defending him as a good guy when I wondered when Rogan's "me too" moment would come as they seem like a meat head douche. Even going so far as to say they hung out with Rogan, if I recall. HAHAHAHA

38

@19: Don't knock hysterectomies 'till you've actually tried one, Swift-boots. :)

@20 blip & @23 Adam Kadmon: Thank you both for the warning about Bill Maher. Duly noted.
"He [Maher] is a modern alternative to Archie Bunker." Ugh!
My neither having a TeeVee nor subscribing to Twitter or cable has worked wonders in better maintaining my health and sanity.

39

@38: Glad you were warned auntie! Wheeew!

44

@39: What have you been snorting lately besides Cocoa Puffs, Elmer, actual glue?
How many months down in your Mom's fruit cellar have you gone without daylight, actually going outside, and breathing fresh air?
SSSSSSHHHHHhhhhhhhh....be vewy vewy quiet.....take some deep bweaths...and get your bwood sugar checked wegularwy, Elmer..
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH...

46

@44: What was wrong with @39 as I said I was glad that you were warned?

47

@46: There are times when I detect sarcasm and insincerity in your posted comments, Elmer. Cop to it.
